Screw the nut off until it is just slightly above the shaft level but still has several threads engaged. Then pull the wheel up as hard as possible towards you. At the same time have someone hit the nut sharply with a brass hammer or similar. The shock should free the wheel on the spline, then remove nut completely and take wheel off! Brass or similar is best to use so the nut does not get damaged...

SOURCE: how do you remove a 1990 ford thunderbird steering wheel?

There will be screws/bolts around the outside(under some kind of covers), holding the center section on. after you get that off there will be one nut right in the center(remove that and pull the steering wheel(most of the time you need a steering wheel puller)

Testimonial: "o ok i get ya thanx bro do u think it will be possible for me to just pull the wheel out without using a wheel puller?"

How do I remove a steering wheel off my 1964 Ford Thunderbird

Remove the center horn pad assembly and remove nut holding steering wheel to column. You need a steering wheel puller to remove it from the tapered shaft once the nut is loose. You can rock the steering wheel and pull if you don't have a puller but when it lets go watch for a broken nose.

Remove steering wheel 1996 ford courier

once you have removed the centre cover from the steering wheel you will have to remove the lock clip above the large nut holding the steering wheel to the steering shaft. loosen the nut enough that the nut is still threaded to the shaft at the top, then using a puller pull the wheel loose from the shaft. if you don`t have a puller you can hit the top of the steering shaft with a hammer and it should pop loose.
