You didn't say what make spark plug you're using or any mods done to the bike so I'll presume it's standard. The gap should be 0.9

I believe NGK brand is the best. Get the stock plug for your bike from the dealer. Gap should be 30 thousandths.

2004 buell xbr9 sputters while cruising if i gun it seems ok. bike has 7,ooo miles on it.


Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Spark plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition and leaking.
3. Spark plug gap too close or too wide.
4. Faulty ignition coil, module, and or sensor.
5. Battery nearly discharged.
6. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
7. Intake air leak.
8. Water, dirt, or rust in the fuel system, carburetor and/or filter.
9. Fuel tank vent system plugged or carburetor vent line closed off.
10. Carburetor controls misadjusted.
11. Damaged carburetor.
12. Loose, dirty, or corroded ignition module connector at crankcase.
13. Faulty MAP, CKP, O2, and/or CMP sensors.
14. Incorrect valve timing.
15. Weak or broken valve springs.
16. Damaged intake or exhaust valve.

I have a 2006 Buell xb12r my problem is, wants to stall on fwy when I am cruising.Also shifting into gears is now tough(Sometimes), finally the bike feels sluggish like I am draging an anchor. Any ideas I...

Need proper spark plug gap 2001 buell m2


Hi, using NGK DPR7EA-9 the gap would be 0'8 , the gap would be the same regardles of make of plug, and is the same from M2 cyclone 1997-2002'

It does not start


most commonly with the Buell XB bikes the spark plugs foul out, very easily i might add. what you need to do is remove the air box lid (not to loose the vinyl washers and left side air scoop) with your hands take off the spark plug caps (wires) with a deep 5/8 socket and an extension of about a foot in length break loose the spark plugs and then use a 3/8 rubber fuel line and slide that onto the plug to finish taking out the plugs. i would recommend replacing them and making sure the gap is at .038"
(thirty eight thousandths of an inch) if you have or can get use a little bit of anti seize on the threads and use these steps backwards to put it back together. if this is not the case please do let me know.

Just pulled my 01 Buell Blast out to ride and it won't start. It tries but doesn't fully turn over. Gas ok, battery ok, dash n lights ok. Not sure if maybe there is a problem with my gas line??? Please...


have you checked the spark plug?

remove it and plug it into the ht cap then lay it on the chassis touching metal and turn over bike if its working you will be able to see the spark
