Hi,
Very many years ago I owned an Austin 1800 4 door sedan which while driving would just stop without any apparent reason. Then after turning on the starter motor a few times it would start and give no trouble for quite some time. Then again the engine would just stop - just like that - without any warning. The problem I discovered was that there was a loose wire connection in the rotor. The designers had made the wire so short that with driving on rough roads and the flexing of the motor the wire taking the power to the rotor was pulled out of where it was soldered allowing it to occasionally lose connection. This may be your problem.

Will bad knock sensor stop ignition from sparking?

I'm going way back into my alcohol erased memory on this one, but check your oil level sender. I ran into this problem many years ago and it seems like that was the culprit.

check if there is spark in your plugs, if none, just replace ignition coil.

Car wouldn't start .told crankshaft sensor faulty / replaced but still not start & smells as if flood cab

Before you go for anything, try the following: 1) check if there is any spark goes from distributor or coil to leads .
2) check if your car fitted with injection system,if the injectors are spraying correct or are not. If not means that too much fuel in the combustion chamber and kill the spark.
3)remove the spark plugs - after you start for couple of times - if are dry or wet. if are wet probably you have problem with the injector or spark lead, coil or distributor.
4) blocked catalytic converter.
5) ECU ( Electronic Control Unit.) faulty.

What will cause 5 and 7 cylinders to miss fire

In most cases some type of ignition component failure,

Personally I would say seldom a spark plug,go with ignition
coils or coil packs or modules, depending on what your engines
system has.

Misfires are not always cut & dry, as to the cylinder codes

So I wouldn't start replacing parts, have it proper diagnosed

My parents have a self propelled...front drive...walk behind 22in cut mower purchased at Home Depot 3 seasons ago.....I do the maintance on the mower....sharpen blade....change the oic/plug &...

Does the mower die right away (cuts out) or does it sputter to a halt. Sputtering out would indicate a fuel problem. If it just cuts out when hot, then more likely an ignition problem. Your coil may need replacing. Take a close look at the coil wire (spark plug wire) and its routing. Make sure it's not touching part of the engine where it's heating up and has caused a "leak" to ground it out when it gets hot. If all is well then check your spark when the engine is hot and cuts out. Make sure you have a very good blue spark and not a weak one (check it cold first and then compare!). Again, indicating a possible ignition coil problem. Hope this helps and best of luck to you.

If there is spark out of one coil than its not the crank sensor.

does this have one coil assembly with 6 posts or are there three individual coils?

If it has three individual coils try swapping the coil that works with one that doesn't. If the one that wasn't working now works and the one that was working doesn't than you have a bad module. If the coil that was working still works and the coil that doesn't work still doesn't work than you have a bad coil.

If it has one coil with 6 posts I would replace the coil and the module. It is not uncommon for the coils to go bad and take out the module at the same time.

Car runs for 5 mins ,stalls, sometimes starts and sometime stalls

try checking the coil igniter, if this is faulty and it gets hot it will really make your car die but when its cold it will make your car run again.
