What does it say in the owners manual?

Did you not buy a service manual when you got it?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Have a knock in my 2000 2.5 jeep cherokee just had the head rebuilt new lifters and pushrods can't ajust rockerarm it's torque to the right setting

I'm not sure where your knock is coming from, but If you rev your engine up and the knock becomes faster and louder you may have a bad rod bearing. If this is the case and you haven't ran your engine too much it is possible to put a new set of bearings in it and you'll be ready to go. But it is possible that you have spun a bearing and the crank would be ruined. Hope that's not where your knock is. Hope this helps, Jeff Horton

I had the muffler baffles shortened on my 03 C2 to get a better sound but now it backfires badly. Is there some mod to the carbs i can do????

ok u have better fuel flow with the shortened exhaust you will most likely need to go up a main jet size ur running with too much air in ur mixture running hot and the backfires are when u get to top of ur gear range its starveing it of fuel runing too hot the exhaust is geting super heated and the backfires are as u decelerate right ? thats unburnt fuel hiting ur exhaust and going bang u may even notice flames at exhaust tip the new slightly larger main jet shuld fix this you may have to ajust the main needles up or down to compensate for the jet change asumeing they are adjustable the pilot jet shuld be fine no need to touch anything there

ok so as u running now ur fuel cat emission thing eats petrol and vice versa over fuel a lot the cat will be overwelmed and get eaten by the fuel ur at the other end too much air cat wont be effected but as ur running much hoter then needed your basicly eating your engine from the inside out from the aditional air the new main jet will allow more fuel from the start of midrange to top end u shuld find after this fix the bike will run stronger and faster and cooler from 600 rpm up primerily more at top end

the main jet is the fix as far as i see it but like i say ajusting that to allow more fuel means u also effect midrange to have more fuel more so the more u open the accelorator so you may need to make a minor adjustment positioning ur needles prehaps 1 clip up putting the needle its self a bit closer to the jet thus giving less fuel thats if you have ajustable needles if not u cant ajust midrange but to be honest just that pilot jet shuld put u so close to right u may not even need the midrange ajustment try it 1 size up on all main jets its at the least a big step in the right direction if not a total fix

hope this helps

I just put on a new rebuilt carburator on my 460 v8 1987 xlt 250 ford truck 4 WH. drive. its a motorcraft stock holley. I cant seem to find a way to ajust it. Wont run smooth or idle? It was set up for...

You have two setting screws on front of carb, You start off by adjusting all the way to the left, Then back off 3/4 turn to both setting screws, Then you have to set your air fuel mixture by just slowly turn your setting clock wise do so until vibration go away. Sorry there is no easy way to explain, Good luck to you,

Borring out pot to 56mm from 54mm do i need to change my jets in my carb and wat are the ajustments

GiVen a 56mm pistonn is a 2mm over size it should be fine with the normal jets. You may want to check with the company doing the over size if new jets are required.

We have a RICHO fax 2050L been trying to ajust the time on the

Press "function", "6", then "2 2 2 2". Press "91" , "yes".
Now enter the new settings:
Use "*" , and "#" to toggle through months, and am/pm.
Press "yes" to lock settings.
Press "function" to exit

** Note: I believe, you will have to initially set the time to Dec. 31, 1999 @ 12:59pm, and wait for it to roll over to 2000, then go back and change the time/date to 2009.

Hope this helps.

Check engine light is on and high idle (1500rpm)

Some times the E.G.R. will stick half open. This will make the engine surge or have high idle. Try replaceing the E.G.R. located under the upper intake. Do not go with after market E.G.R. The spring in them are to powrefil and the E.G.R. wil not open. Also try replaceing the O2 sensors. This could give the engine more fuel thus a higher idle. Some vehicles the T.P.S. can be ajusted, do some checking to see if yours is adjustable.

Please contact me if your problem presists.
Thanks, Charlie
