It can be done but it is not easy. Looking at the schematics you can input the turntable into the microphone inputs. Depending on what you can do with the tone controls you may get it to sound ok. If it is to loud you can add an attenuator in series with the turntable and you need to also add RIAA equalization (just an RC network).

It will be interesting to see this on a motorcycle!

I have a Sony HCD-ZX6. When I plug it in the power light comes on. When I press the power button, the stereo turns on for about 3 seconds. At that time all the lights flash and the power shuts off.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

Got a 05 zx6 (636) when I was riding the dispaly started to flicker and go on and off. I lost power and everything(off and on) and barley made it home. No when I try to start the display flickers and the...

Check your battery terminals, make sure they are secure and no movement if loose tighten up. Loose terminals will cause similar responses.

If secure, check out the fuses, make sure all are inplace and again secured. Be carful not to shortout do not use metal objects as probs, if not sure, remove a battery terminal. and while you are at it, carfully check all wiring which is secured by a nut, again make sure all are tight.

You are looking for a loose connection.

Good morning! I wish to plug our television into the LBT-ZX6 stereo, but the TV's output uses an optical audio cable. Is there an adapter of any sort that could convert the optical cable into the stereo...

You may be able to avoid messing with the optical output completely, if the TV has a headphone output, in which case, a phono-3.5mm jack adaptor will sort you out nicely.

If it has to be optical, I expect you can buy adaptors for this aswell, but I'd expect it to be more expensive.

Most local electronics stores will sell these. Radioshack is a good example. Also, you could look around on the internet.

P-301 onkyo pre-amp

Hi juicer, If you use the switched outlet, then everything will be turned on/off when you operate the preamp power switch. Use the unswitched, then you have to turn off each unit separately. You choose which one you want. It wont matter.

What connection do you intend to use to connect the LBT zx6 to the Onkyo preamp??
