I have had starter issuses for my 1992 ford taurus sho3.0 for awhile now and finally got to changing it out today it sat for two days and awhile in that time i went out to bang on the starter to get it to...

If you have a carby check that the auto choke is working correctly. If is set too tightly closed it will flood the engine every time and pumpin the pedal will not help the situation. Mostly the correct adjustment should be almost closed but will open under air flow.

1972 olds 98 455ci starts and runs fine when its cold but once i've driven it for awhile it starts sputtering like its running out of gas

sounds like a vapor lock. older cars needed a set of points . they kept firing times in sync with fuel delivery , valves opening/closing try that.

My car runs for awhile then tac starts bouncing around & car dies, won't start back up for awhile. What could this be?

First inclination is a fuel delivery problem. Several causes for this are:

  1. Clogged fuel injectors
  2. Air in fuel line
  3. Leak in fuel line
  4. Bad gas filter
  5. Bad fuel pump

After riding a couple hundred miles my FXD died. I checked the oil and topped off with gas before leaving. After it died I checked the oil and dipstick showed very low. After sitting an hour, it showed 1/2...

First of all, your oil level has nothing to do with your bike stalling. Best way to check it is with engine cold. Shoot for halfway between full and add marks.Your levels are normal. The engine retains some oil after running. It takes awhile to drain back into the case. Please clarify your stalling problem. How fast were you going? Sitting still. Only upon startup after a drive?
