Remember that changing your credit card number is the same as getting a new credit card account. This does not alter your credit history. This will not raise your credit score. This will not relieve you of your debts. Your old account stays open until it is paid.
The ONLY way to change your credit card number is to get a new credit card account.
IF you wish to use the same finance company, you ask them to close the account first and start a new account.
It would be easier to apply for a different card (If you have a VISA with Chase, you could apply for a VISA with Capitol One or a MasterCard with CitiBank or even a MasterCard with Sears.)
Once you are approved for a new card (and it arrives) THEN close the account with your old card. You close the old account by paying the debt and then requesting the account to be closed.
If you mean you have to change details on such websites as Ebay/Paypal or Amazon - just log in as per normal, go to your personal details and enter the new visa card number
You need to have VISA issue anew card number if you want a new account number and if it is the PIN you want to change and you do not know the old one you will need to call the VISA people which you could also do to get instructions fro changing the PIN even if you do know the old PIN and just are not able to change it to a new one.
No need to call Paypal, simply login to your paypal account and then move you mouse pointer to profile>>Link/Edit Credit Card
Add a new one and then verify it, once verified then delete the old number from there.
and you are done
In today's world, many of us rely on plastic and go light on carrying cash.
Visa is one of the leading card brands worldwide with 1.8 billion cards in use, including credit and debit cards.
But in those instances when you need cash, you also need a reliable Personal Identification Number.
But what if you forgot your PIN or are concerned someone saw you use it?
Call the phone number of the Visa card issuer.
Most cards have a toll-free number listed on the back of the card.
Choose the appropriate phone menu options to speak to a live person.
Most banks and credit card companies require live verification before they will implement a change of PIN.
Answer the customer service representative's identification questions.
These may include personal information such as social security number, current address, mother's maiden name, when your account was opened, your place of birth and location or branch where your account was opened if your card is linked to your bank.
Request your change of PIN.
Have a new PIN in mind in case your credit card company or bank allows you to choose the new PIN over the phone.
In some cases, the Visa issuer will automatically assign you a new PIN and will likely mail it to you.
Confirm with the customer service agent that the change has been successfully completed before you get off the phone.
Change Your Visa Card Number
Changing your Visa card number mitigates or prevents fraudulent activity on your account.
The customer service department of your issuing bank can change the number in some situations.
Some banks and merchants also offer services that mask your true card number when making purchases.
Prepaid debit or gift cards also provide an alternative card number in lieu of directly using your main credit card account. Threat of Fraud
Contact the customer service department of the card issuer if you believe fraud has already occurred on your account, or you suspect your credit card number is in the hands of an unauthorized party and fraudulent activity is imminent.
The card issuer will deactivate the compromised account, assign a new card number and mail a new card.
Cut up and dispose of the old card once the new card arrives.
Log into any online merchant sites where you used the old card number and delete that information from the site.
Decide if you wish to enter the updated card number at that time. Protect your account by masking it.
If you want to change a card number in a situation where no fraudulent activity has yet occurred, Rebecca Lindsey of Cardratings.com suggests contacting the customer service department of your issuing bank to inquire whether the bank offers "virtual card numbers."
Virtual card numbers are "disposable" credit card numbers that can be used a limited number of times over a range of specific dates.
Using a virtual card number eliminates the need to provide merchants with your "real" card number, preserving the security of your account.
The chances are that you have an old motherboard which is not compatable with the new graphic card. Or you may be running windows 98 and are downloading the driver for xp or visa versa. The probable solution, will be to sell the new card on ebay and buy the best old card you can off ebay. Or just make do with the card you already had in your computer. If you are determined to have a better graphics card. A motherboard upgrade with better graphic card may be the best answer or buy a better spec pc second hand if you don't have much money. You'll probably waiste a lot of time trying to get the new card to work and it probably never will.
