Question about Motorcycles
Popping (backfiring) is usally a sign of one ot two things: either the fuel mixture is too rich, or you have a weak spark in one or both cyclinders. Pull a spark plug and look at the tip. If the electrode is coated with black carbon, the the fuel mixture is too rich. Assuming your air cleaner is not plugged with debris, this requires resetting jets in the carburetor. If the culrpit is a weak aprk, replace the spark plugs and see if that fixed the problem. If not, have your coils and ignition wires checked out.
