when i inquired it to my mechanic he said that pulsars come with CDI unit(used for ignition) if this unit get wet the engine will behave erratically. You must allow the unit to dry or blow jet of air in the unit.
after this bike will start normally....

Pulsar 150 drive chain jumping with strange knocking from engine.

Hi,it sounds from what you are saying that you have got a inturnal falt with the gearbox,im affried the only way to make a propper diagnoses is to take it apart and look at the gear sincros there has to be worn bearings,or teeth on the gears,or the sellector,or something has just manidged to come loose.
I wish you all thhe best.

How will a 1991 chevy truck transmission clutch behave if the clutch disk was accidentally installed backwards?

First of all you said that the disk is in backwards. If this is the case, then it's possible that the friction plate is grinding on the flywheel and isn't transmitting any drive to the gearbox input shaft.
If you are certain that your friction plate has been installed the wrong way around, then you MUST do the job again and re-install. Im most cases an incorrect installation should have been obvious as the clutch cover plate would most often be difficult to tighten down and the friction plate would often be very difficult to align before tightening down the cover plate.

My guess is that you perhaps have another issue. You may have an issue with the release bearing, or release lever/assembly. I am not familiar with your model of vehicle, but does it have a clutch cable or hydraulic action? If it's a cable, then make certain that the cable has been re-adjusted after the new clutch plate install. If your adjustment is too tight then your clutch is basically disengaged and your car won't drive. If it's too loose, then you won't be able to disengage the clutch.
If you have a hydraulic system, then first try bleeding any air from the system and try operating the clutch once more.

Additional questions:

1) Can you select gears with the engine turned off? If no, then check your gear selector mechanism for fitment and operation.

2) If a gear can be selected, then with the vehicle started, does the vehicle move? If no, then check clutch cable adjustment, or remove gearbox and check friction plate, and cover fitment as well as release bearing operation.

3) When you hear a creak in the bell-housing, is the engine running or not running? If not running, then check clutch cable adjustment or bleed hydraulic lines and try again. If no luck, then remove gearbox and start again.

My snowblower won't go into gear when I start it.

If your snow blower is a two stage, you can tilt unit up by handles and carefully rest unit on front auger housing. (Most units you can do this, but be careful, not all do). Then, remove bolts that hold bottom plate on snow blower, and remove bottom plate. If you follow the shift linkage down from handle to where it enters inside the unit, you will soon see how it works. Most types have the gear shifter hooked up to an apparatus that moves a rubber friction disc along a shaft, further towards the center for lower gears and vice versa. My guess is that you need to lubricate the shaft that this rubber disc slides along. Try some white lithium grease and have someone carefully move shifter throughout gear range. Be careful to not get grease on round friction plate below, this is where the rubber friction disc mates up to when drive is engaged(you don't want it slipping). Try this and let me know if you have questions. If you post actual make, model and serial# I can post pics if you like. Good luck and happy wrenching!

What is fail safe mode for transmission in 2002 dodge stratus? What could cause fail safe mode to activate with the transmission

I believe fail safe mode is usually direct drive which in most 4 speed transmissions is third gear. As far as what could cause this could be many things, electrical, clutch leakage or transmission oil bypassing the clutch that the transmission wants to engage, clutch slippage which could be the friction disks in a certain clutch that don't have any friction material left on them. IE like a brake pad the friction material on the pad once it is gone the brakes don't operate very good you have metal to metal contact you need to change your brakes. same concept. Are their any codes? Did the check engine light or transmission light come on? If you have a light try and see what the light says by scanning the computer. this should give you a good place to start.

It sounds to me like a part is missing in the clutch assembly. Bear in mind that the first plate installed in the clutch assembly is a cork friction plate, then metal, cork, metal, ect.. You should end up with a cork friction plate. There should be 6 metal plates and 7 cork friction plates. The diagram below is a tri-z 250. Please rate my answer. Thanks! tombones49_199.gif

Im having shifting/clutch problems on my bike. when i shift down to stop my bike it will go to neutral and wont go into first gear,i really have to try hard. my clutch leaver becomes so stiff i can barely...

The shifting problem is a bent shift fork. The clutch problem is chatter on the outer, and/or inner, clutch hub and fiber friction plates. The friction plates are catching in grooves worn into the clutch hub by the friction plate tabs. The hub should be smooth. I created a diagram of the shift system and of the clutch to give you an idea of how they work. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_67.gif

1990 Toyota PICK UP SR5 V6, when in gear and start releasing clutch pedal, truck starts moving forward with slight jerking. As soon as I give it gas, it starts to **** harder, forcing me to shift into 2nd...

Sounds like it is a clutch issue. Have the clutch plate checked or check the clutch and friction plates. I know it sounds strange but In reality we always press teh clutch all teh way in to shift. But going from 2nd to third you actually don't have to. Going from 3rd to 4th is even less of a distance. It may be a problem between the clutch and friction plates depending on when you last had them changed and adjusted.

Hi, i have a 82 kawa kz750 it started off as

It sounds like your clutch pack is worn out. When you rev it up you heat up the friction plates between the clutch plates and it will grab because it gets hot.
One thing you can check before is clutch cable adjustment. hope this helps KC
