Is it too far up or down? A lot of the times - there's a set bolt where it attaches to a geared post coming out of motor. Loosen bolt - maybe pry apart a bit, slide out and slide back on where you want it. This is gearshift lever, ccorrect?

Why my toyota corolla 1995 a/t won't shift to reverse?

Make sure the transmission fluid is at the right level and is the right type. Transmissions use the fluid to engage various mechanisms and sometimes low transmission fluid will only effect one gear at first. Also it could the shifting lever adjustment. Make sure all the gears engage as they are supposed to - if they don't work right either, you need to get it adjusted.

Not shiftign to 3r gear

Loose shift linkage on transmission or shift rods are binding under car. Clutch may need adjustment too. Check fluid level. Hold clutch in for longer period to see if gear engages.

Oldsmobile cutlass 1993 Wont engage when engine cold.

Check your transmission fluid level You will need to top it up if low. Low fluids mean that not only will the transmission be slow to respond but when it engages gear it does so with a bit of thump. If the fluid stays low this thumping of the gear changes will eventually shear off the input shaft. Also check the linkage located from beneath the gear shift to the transmission casing and adjust it if necessary. My guess is that topping up the transmission fluid to its proper levels will solve the problem without need for any adjustment

I have a 1995 Dodge Dakota 5 speed. The gears are

im not 100% but i think that truck has a hydraulic clutch. if it does for sure then check the fluid level if its a cable or linkage type then it may be out of adjustment. Ether way (low on fluid or out of adjustment) the clutch may not be fully disengaged while your trying to shift. Start there before getting to far into it.

My 1993 mitsubishi eclipse wont go into 5th gear

1st and 5th are the most stressed gears and the mitsubishi how ever fluid level and also adjusts ments are also possible issues i would check fluid levels as previously stated then adjust the shift cables becaause over time they do stretch and if it is stretched enough it will not allow a full engaement of the gears which can cause grinding or just no power if both of thos dont work look to internal parts like synchros a total shaft replacement will not be the case as the gears are paired on shafts but 1st and 5th are not paired together has there been anytype of work on or around the tranny
