I don't know the answer and I didn't google it assuming you did that already but try taking the positive terminal off your battery for a bit. Try to reset the system.
ive had this problem with another make of car before, the immobiliser was stuck on stopping the car from starting, reset the immobiliser by disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes and reconnecting it. good luck.
if that knob has 2 wires going to it u can join the 2 wires together or touch them together to deactivate immobiliser , the knob is a switch that either connects the 2 wires or disconnects them when pushed ,if there are more than 2 wires i would need to know the colours and how many there are
If, when you switch the ignition on, you get a dash light on, the symbol is a car with a key overlaid, you have somehow activated the immobilser You could try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, this may reset the immobiliser, If this does not work you will have to contact a Hyundai dealer to get the immobiliser unlock code.
leave well alone ,for now ??try another battery off of another car to see if this makes starter work because it most likely is another problem like altenator not charging and battery going flat thats giving you the grief .so try a battery from another car that is starting and see what happens, then get back to me
dont know how to do it, sorry, but same thing happened on mother-in-laws car, mechanic just by-passed immobiliser, cheaper than new parts and loads of labour charges. Good luck
Hi
Had a similar problem with my x type 2.5 petrol, only had the car 1 day went to start it nothing happend all the lights came up on the dash but the engine wouldn't start and the immobiliser light stayed on. Spoke to Jaguar they had no idea and I couldn't get it to them. After disconnecting the battery trying to reset the immobiliser phoned and auto locksmith they came out and discovered the end of the key with the blade had lost it's coding and the immobiliser was not disarming, they reprogrammed the key and the car started no problem. As far as i know there is no way past the immobiliser. Hope this helps.
