is battery more than two years old? if yes replace battery. Battery voltage should be >12.4 volts minimum. if it wont hold this charge its bad. Check all the wiring on your bike to make sure that you dont have a shorted system that is draining down you battery.

SOURCE: why do the three white wires from stator to rectifier keep melting on my 2000 yamaha yzfr6

Disconnect the wire connections and OHM them out to ground. If you have a short to ground the wires will melt.

Testimonial: "could you please be more specific on how to ohm them out to ground. also i hooked the ground from stator and rectifier directly to battery ground and still had the same problem. thanks for your help"

Hi, Tyler your regulator needs to have a tight clean ground for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere $0 you can download another one. I was driving it n turn off i put a new battery but keeps killing it it wont charge

check for loose or disconnected plugs leading from your stator and rectifier circuitry. a good fully charge battery should read about 12.6v.-12v.8v.

I installed a new quality battery, charged it. Dies in one day

It could be either your stator or your rectifier. You should check your AC output from your stator before replacing your rectifier. The rectifier is found bolted to the front side of the battery case.
Here is a link to a diagram to illustrate the location. The rectifier is #24.
