Sounds like the spark plug wire is bad and has shorted out to the steering mechanism. Suggest you replace the spark plug wires.

SOURCE: Hi My motorcycle Hero Honda Dawn had problem at

possible weak battery? its better after a run... when it's charged a bit off the alternator. it's possibly not holding the charge overnight and being a bit sluggish in the morning... have it checked - a half charged battery makes a half charged coil... zap? . which will spark but not quite so good as a fully charged coil ZAP!
also check the plug for oil fouling and check if the oil level is too high - if so drain the oil down to the Full mark - this can happen after a lot of failed starting attempts as unburned petrol gets past the cylinder into the sump, filling it up... If THIS has happened you need to change the oil and filter, oil full of petrol does not lubricate the engine!!! - I think its 10W30 for your bike, it takes about 2 pints.
Sounds like its almost definitely electrical tho...

SOURCE: A Hero Honda CD Dawn

Find a shop manual and buy it.
Perform all maintenance on the bike that's right all of them.
If you skip the wrong one the thing can kill you out in the real world.
Check every nut bolt wheel bearing ,brake . cable and on and on.
This is not an easy task and unless you are good with mechanical things and
very patient you will not like it. However if you have the time to do all the items go for it

My hero honda cd dawn engine goes out when I hold cluch. Why?

Hi, Turyahabwa your carburetor may need an adjustment for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. Hello, I have a Yamaha R-15 Version 2.0 2011

It sounds like the service you got forgot to lube the cable or the rod to the brake also there should be a service cap screw on the freont fork to lube it also and check your front axle bolt to be sure it is at the proper tourque. If either is to tight or loose it could be dangeraus. As far as the water is concerned the bike shouldn't have a problem there. Good luck and be carful.

Hi, Paul some bikes can handle moisture better than others depending on age and 99% of the ones that don't start after getting wet just need a little time to dry out then they are good to go. WD40 works wonders when sprayed in critical electronic areas, ie. coils, spark plugs, safety switches etc.

Drive side soaked floor boards.

Could be a plugged drain for the windshield or cowl vents, or the door gasket.
You could try using a garden hose or take it to a body shop.

R1100 Handling

enjine, R11xx bikes are generally regarded as well balanced, sweet handling machines. Indeed, it is one of their better attributes. Have you inspected the rear swing arm and final drive for free play? With the bike securely on the center stand grab the rear wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and attempt to rock it. Repeat this at 12 and 6 o'clock. If you discover flex you may have also discovered the cause of your handling problems. If you do discover flex you'll need to isolate it to the rear drive, the paralever bearings (at the rear of the swing arm and a well documented "weak link") or at the swing arm bearings. One more thought; what sort of tire pressure do you run, front & rear? I hope you can sort this out and start fully enjoying your oilhead.
