Question about Motorcycles

I was given a 2000 RM 125 from a friend and the whole motor and trans is in pieces in a box. Does anyone know where I can get a manual for free or any diagrams of how to put the trans gears back together?

Sometimes a library will have the manual you need. Even with a manual, if you have never done it before, there are certain things you will need to know that may not be explained in the manual. You could get the whole thing back together and the engine may lock up. How do you know if all the parts are there? Some bolts may be just a hair longer or shorter but could make a difference . And why was the engine and transmission taken apart? Good luck with that .

You go to a store that sells the bike or whatever it is
& buy (not free) a service manual

Hope your skill level will be enough to put it together

SOURCE: early 80's rm 125 carb help

Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

The 'port' questions should be answered by the following.
Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the two screws on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.
< < READ CLOSELY > >
Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two screws down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each screw one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. Set the idle speed with the idle screw. This process should get you back on the road.

SOURCE: i have a suzuki rm 125 1994 model when i pull the

Adjust the clutch cable to allow about 1/4" free play at the end of the clutch handle. Don't put the bike in gear until the rpms are near idle speed. The clutch is working fine if the bike does not lurch forward when going into gear at idle speed. Dirty, gritty oil in the gearbox can make the clutch grab. Consider changing oil if grabbing is the problem. The "crunch" you hear is the slider gear engaging into the driven gear. The higher the engine speed when being put into gear the louder the crunch. The slider gear engaging "dogs" can break. Crunching into gear is hard on the gears.

Post a comment to let me know how you come out on this.

SOURCE: clutch rm 125

Okay, this may take a couple of comments back and forth but I can get you back on the road. First, Have you done any work on the clutch lately? If so, what and why? Did the clutch work okay after the work? Have you changed gearbox oil in the last month or so? If so, EXACTLY what oil did you put in the gearbox? i.e. "10w40 Mobil Super Blue fluid with silicone friction limiters". Just post a comment to get back to me.

Can I fit a SUZUKI RM 250 Engine into a 2000 RM 125 frame?

Hi, Anthony sounds like something I would try when I was a kid but after careful deliberation 4 out 5 Suzuki Gods give this one a thumbs down, but just to be on the safe side you should give your local dealer's parts/service department a call to confirm it's just not worth the time trouble and expense you would be better off getting a used 250 bike. When i spilt the bottom end of my 2000 suzuki rm 125 two rubber o rings fell out and i dont know where they came from, any ideas where they go?

Depending on how large they are, they are most like from the oil lines that distribute oil to different parts of the bottom end of you motor. Also, they could be from around the oil pickup tube where it mates to the block.

My rm 125 is jumping out of gear?

Do you "kick shift" a lot? (shift at high rpm without the clutch) or did the gear box run low on oil at any point that you know of? If so the syncros in the gear box may be worn. Probably not a do it yourself fix, unless you are familiar with this.
Good luck. Please rate, thanks.
