Answered

I need a carburetor interchange list.

I have a 1988 Dodge Ram 50, 4x4, automatic w/air. I need another carb but those trucks are hard to find. Does anyone out there know what other vehicles had the same set up so I can broaden my search?

    Yeppers. Its a Mikuni. Unfortunately. 2.6 mitsubishi. Should have mentioned that.

2.6 minkuni carb?

    Dodge caravan 84-86 with 2.6 and dodge aries same years, plymouth reliant and voyager. Also I'm pretty sure mitsubishi mighty max I think has a 2.6. The most important thing is that it has the mitsu 2.6

Dont know if this helps or not but holley also offers a carb for the 2.6 also. Not for sure the price but the part no. is 64-9598. Pretty sure its cheaper than a new mikuni. Also visit www.guaranteedcarburetors.com they have remanufactured mikuni carbs for 259 lifetime warranty check it out

Gas not staying in carb, when cold very hard to start
it sounds like the choke isn't closing on the carburetor when the engine is cold ( more gas, less air). normally step on gas pedal once to close choke before starting. need to find someone familiar with carburetors to help as it can be technical setting it up

1985 dodge ramcharger, carburetor issues
Sounds like a problem I had with my '85 Dodge D150 Ram Prospector. In my case, the automatic choke was broken and it was starved for air during acceleration because the choke was always closed. It ran fine at idle or very slow acceleration. I wired the choke open and it runs much better, although it is much more difficult to start as the fuel mix is lean due to the extra air. Once it gets warmed up, though, it runs fine. I hear that the barrel carb on mine often has problems.

88 dodge ram 50 4x4 manul trans. 2.6 mitshibishi.
the loss of power I was experiencing was because the secondary was not working. The vacuum was not strong enough to open the secondary.
I found a stronger vacuum and hooked it up there. Still need to fine tune the adjustments on the Carb. Have twice the power I had but still need adjusting.

Wheres the fuel filter located at,on a 1988 dodge D250 ram truck 360 V8 auto trans.
follow the fuel line up from the gas tank and you will find a round canister this is the filter also it is usually located on the driver side under that area

1988 ram 50 carb needs adjustment because I threw
Attach a vacuum gauge to the manifold and a tachometer to the coil turn the adjustment needle valve in till the engine stumbles, then slowly back it out ''till you obtain the highest vacuum reading and best (steady) idle. then adjust the linkage stop screw, watching the tach for proper idle speed.

1988 Dodge Ram 50 fuel filter is located adjacent to fuel tank. More specifically, the fuel filter is directly above frame rail at front end of fuel tank. The fuel filter and retaining clip can be seen between the two bed mounts on the driver side.
