Should be an easy google search to find the manual to help you find the timing.

SOURCE: How do you time a 2006 kxf450 dirtbike?

this is done via a bolt on the outside of the engine located on the head but i strongly urge you to go see a qualified motorcycle mechanic due to the fact that not doing this correctly will cause massive harm to the engine and if the chain falls off then you need to get the engine pulled apart and put back on which will cost you mega $$$$

SOURCE: Just rebuilding 2001 honda xr 80 and need to know

Valve timing is done with the piston at Top Dead Center. The cam lobes should be pointing downward. There will be a mark or marks on the cam gear for alignment of the gear. If only one mark, it should be at the top and inline with the centerline of the crankshaft. If two marks, they sholud be parallel with the surface of the cylinder. Any slack in the timing chain should be at the carb side. When the cam gear is in the proper position, rotate the cam slightly to line up the screw holes for mounting. After mounting, remove the spark plug and turn the engine over by hand to be sure the setting is correct. If the crankshaft locks up it is because the piston is hitting a valve. Re-do the cam timing. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Run a compression check. If it's low, solve that problem first.

1979 honda 250 dirtbike want fire no spark

Check to make sure there is no damage to any wiring. Check to make sure the magnet on the flywheel still has meagnetism Also make sure the ignition switch is not not the problem by spraying it down with contact cleaner on the electrical portion. It can corrode from sitting so long. If that does not work, Swap the ingition module./ignitor for a known good one- it is most likely that module failed.

I would like free instructions with torque specs on rebuilding the top end of a 1997 honda xr 200 dirtbike.don't want to spend thirty bucks on book cant find the ifo for free and don't want to do it...

I'd like free ice cream ...

Here is free advise ...

Go to the Honda Site ... Join their Honda Riders Club for a couple bucks which allows you to download or access the service manual for your particular model and any other model for that matter as I recall. All the particulars will be in that manual.

Conversly, you could go to the Honda shop in your town and have them order one for you ... The club is a couple bucks ... the printed manual is more, Im sure. I think I paid $35.00 for the service manual for my whatever in the mid 70's You will probably pay way more for such a manual today.

Let me know if this helps
