Question about 2004 kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan Classic

2 Answers

1500 Kawasaki Vulcan 93'

Stopped running in the middle of the road. It still has some juice, as the running lights come on. When I go to turn it over it makes a click and running lights go out. When I push start it, it turns on for a split second. I keep the throttle going and it still dies out in about 1-2 seconds. My battery is only 1 year old. The kick stand is not down. The solinoid was replaced 2 summers ago. What is the problem?

You might have a charging system problem without the bike charging system it is only running on the battery power, and once the battery is too low to fire the ignition it will die, check your fuses and power cables to the battery, selenoid and starter, then check the regulator/rectifier, could also be your stator or rotor, only a few possabilities but you will find it.

Make sure your clutch lever is all the way out when you start your bike. i had the same issue and it was because the clutch would not fully release

1992 Kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan Classic will not turn over

Hi, Christine94448 before testing any electrical component in the Starting Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Engine Run Switch is "FAULTY" or corroded.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
5. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
6. FOB battery low or dead.
7. Faulty ignition switch.
8. Faulty starter button.
9. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
10. Security alarm needs a reset.
11. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.
12. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
13. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
14. Faulty ignition relay.
15. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
16. Check for engine trouble codes.

I have a 1998 kawasaki vulcan 1500 classic. I replaced the center cluster that has the oil pressure, turn signal, and temp warning lights with a aftermaket one. Now my oil pressure and temp light do not...

Check the bulbs, they may be bad, check the voltage to the bulbs when the ignition is turned on. it's pretty simple, they're either getting juice or they're not, if not juice in wires, trace back to find where it's lost at, if you have juice to bulbs, then it one of the two, either the bulbs are bad or you have a bad ground for the bulbs.

1999 VULCAN 1500 turn signals will not work. They turn on just don't blink to turn.

It is either a bad ground but more likely the winker relay is demanding too much juice to click the switch/ flash.
