It is almost certainly freeflow/gravity flow but go online with make and model and search or go to manufacturer web site or find a local service centre and ask there.

Inspect the inside of the fuel tank, where the fuel exits the tank. There might be dirt/crud clogging the line. Also, if the fuel line is too close to any exhaust pieces, or is against the engine, it will boil the fuel and cause it to vapor lock (and stall out). Look for these items and hopefully it will cure your issues. Also clean off all dried grass/dust from intake screens. Also check your oil level. Make sure its in the good range, not over or under filled.

Yes you may need a carb kit. It is not good practice to by-pass the fuel filter. The orifice in the jet is very small.
But anyways, There Could still be a blockage inside the carb, a small leak at the manifold, or the jet is worn out.
Let me know how it goes.

Cub Cadet 1862 starts when I pour gas into the carbeurator but won't keep running, fuel filter is ok. Any Ideas? Thanks, Russ

Russ. it isn't getting fuel for some reason. if it has a fuel pump unhook it at the carburetor and see if it pumps fuel. if it don't replace it. if it does take the carburetor off and clean it real good with carburetor cleaner. be sure gas flows to the fuel pump when you take off the line. it could be a plugged fuel filter.maybe put a new kit in it. they are cheap. you have water or debris somewhere. it is just a process to find where it is.

I have a cub cadet model 3204 All shaft drive . It will run for a couple of minutes then shut down its running a 20hp Koler engine, any suggestions ?

First, is there an on/off valve for gas flow? If there is, make sure it's turned to on. It's easy to forget that you've turned it off, especially after the mowing season has ended. Second, if gas is getting out of the tank to the fuel line, you might want to look at the fuel pump. You can disconnect the fuel line coming out of the pump and see, in that couple of minutes it runs, if the pump is actually pumping fuel. If it is, then you've got to think carb - although if it's relatively new, the chances of having a bad carb are small. Is the gas old? You might try draining the tank and refilling it with some high test gas, or even better, some ethanol-free gas if you can find it near where you live. I always use high test and add a couple capfuls of "Sea foam". You can get that at any auto parts store.

Obviously, you want to make sure the air cleaner is clean. As a last resort, you may want to spray some ether in the throat of the carb and see what happens - although YOU MUST NOT SPRAY TOO MUCH LEST YOU BURN IT UP!!!

If none of these measures work, take it to the shop. Cub Cadet is not the quality machine it once was, unfortunately. I had one briefly and wound up selling it and buying a John DeereX300.

I had to run full chock to get it back to the house before it shut down, what cuase this?

I'm sure you have dirt in your carb. If you know how to take the carb apart......You need to get a can of carb cleaner and carb kit. Take the carb apart and spray every hole and nook a crany you can see. Put the new kit in the carb and you should be ready to go!! This has happened to several times.
