It sounds to me that the stall in your torque Convertor is not working properly. You need to see what the RPM's are when you have it in gear with the brake pushed? If it is over 1,000 rpm's then it would seem to me that the idle air control valve is dirty and is keeping the vehichle at a to high rpm. The only other thing i might Add is a vacume leak. Vacum leaks sometimes make an engine run faster to make up for the vacume lost. I would check my vacume lines and around the intake,If no vacume leak go to the IAC Valve and at last i would look toward the torque Convertor. I hope this helps you out.

My 2004 Nissan Frontier 4x4 won't reverse. I'm thinking the band is slipping because when I park the truck on a hill and put it in reverse and let it roll back it works until you come to a stop then i

Remove the valve body & clean all the valves & bores

There is video on that you can watch.

You don't put any trans in reverse, unless you have your foot
on the brake & you don't let it roll back

I have a 3 week old 2014 Frontier
It tells you that in the owners manual

Google 2004 RE5RO5A trans issues & see what turns up

Your TCM should be outside the trans
2008 on, are on top of the valve body in the oil

Car will not accelerate when gas pushed

Clutch plate and pressure plate seem to be too weak to pull the car. To test the clutch plate, park the car on flat surface. Pull the hand brake up, start the car, depress the foot brake pedal, depress the clutch pedal, put the car in 1st gear, press the gas pedal and leave the clutch pedal at once, while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
Follow one of the two following statements:
1. Engine does not shut down and remain start. (Clutch plate, pressure plate and clutch bearing defective - Replace all as a set)
2. Engine shuts down. (Clutch system is OK and does not require any repair).

My brake pedal is slipping i have to pull the pedal up to turn off the rear lights

On your brake pedal under the dash, you will see a white unit with a plunger, the plunger touching the brake pedal. The tend to start slipping in the bracket after a while. Try pulling it out and squeezing the bracket a little then reinstall it. If that doesn't work, you will have to replace it.

Trans mission all the sudden quit workin i pulled out of the gas station it started slipping then it was gone nothing it wont move its like its in neutral

This is not good news ... you already knew that. Your trans needs a overhaul ... you know that as well. It is not likely you can do anything ... with the possible exception that your trans is out of fluid. You will have to check that ... with the engine running and the gear selector in Park, check the level by pulling the dip stick. The fluid should not smell burnt ... it should be pretty pink or red and it should be in the cross hatch area. If it is not, add fluid until it comes up to the proper level.

Before you add any fluid, put your foot on the brake and run through the gears then back to park to check. DO NOT OVER FILL - it is a bear to get the excess fluid out and it will have to come out if you over fill.

Trans just started slipping ,2002 Dodge Stratus with 54000 miles, no signs of problems before, do you check trans level in park or drive?

Have someone sit in the car with the emergency brake on and their foot on the brakes and check the fluid in neutral.

I have a 1996 pontiac grand am the trans shifts fine in all gears but wont move seems to be stuck into park i can feel it going into gear and tries to move and trans isnt slipping it is a automatic when...

Tip on end of park rod has slipped and is staying in the park position. Put car in neutral and get out and rock car back and forth by hand. Tip will slip out and car should move. This will not fix the tip problem as they are crimped on and the crimp has slipped. I installed a master electrical switch and never put the trans in park. I start and stop car in neutral and use switch to shut of electrical. Costs $ 800 to fix trans as park rod is last item out of trans. Cheap solution for me as car is a beater and am driving until it quits. Best of luck.

TRANSMISSON PROBLEMS

if its manual sounds like your clutch could be slipping does car smell of burt clutch?
check cluth adjustment
may need new clutch
do stall test with hand brake on, foot (heel-toe) on brake and accel pedal to about 2000rpm then let out clutch and car should stall if engine revs go down and engine still runs but you can rev causing slip and you will now smell what slipping burnt clutch is replace it.

if its auto check trans oil level and what does it look like red-good
darker red to black-bad often smells burnt also possibly new trans required.

99 jimmy 4wd sl trans issue have fwd & rev but....

It sounds like your describing your torque converter and that its staying unlocked. you might want to check your brake light switch/s if they are malfunctioning it could cause your problem. Also possible that your fuel filter and/or CAT might be clogged.
