When ignition is turned off the solenoid starts knocking, stupid after 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Upon opening the vehicle in the morning without key in the ignition, the solenoid starts knocking, and lasts up to 5 minutes, until engine is warm. When engine is stopped, the knock starts.
I'm guessing that it is a relay not a solenoid. The first step is to locate the one making the noise. Your user manual should show you the location of the relays. Often many of them are located along with the fuse panel and others are located in the engine compartment usually under cover. Put you finger in each relay to try to find the one making the noise. If you think you have found the right one pull it out to see if the noise stops. If you can identify the correct one the next step is to determine if it is the relay or the circuit driving the relay causing the problem.
If you are in the USA most public libraries have auto repair manuals that have circut diagrams.
Good Luck
