Turn off the gas and remove the float bowl. Remove the fuel line. Remove the float pin and float with needle valve. Do not bend the tang that the float needle sits on. Spray carb cleaner into the seat where the needle valve came from to clear out any trash in the valve casing. Spray the float bowl and interior of the carb. Remount the needle and float back in place and put the float bowl back on. Install an in-line fuel filter. The diagram below shows a 1994 carb Yours will be the same or close to it.

Fuel tank Tap -could you please advise which is the fuel system pipe leading to the carburettor and which is the vacuum pipe?

Depends on the bike to be absolutely certain, but best guess would be the lower pipe runs to the carb. Aided by gravity?????

When turn on petrol and kick bike, petrol is running out of overflow pipe on carb and bike wont start, and bike sounds flooded.

You have a sticking float in the carburator, due to old gas, or dirt. The float moves a needle that turns on and off the flow of fuel into the carb bowl.

Gas is leaking from behind front section of chain. what's back there that could be leaking and how do i fix it

Probably carbs overlowing, overflow pipes from the carburettor-s will hang out from below the engine, thus if the float valve sticks in the carb the fuel will overflow away from hot exhaust, you will have to follow pipe up to the offending carb remove float bowl and inspect and clean float valve, you will have to remove float and inspect the valve and its seating for dirt or varnishing which is caused when fuel is left for a prolonged time within the carb

On a kawasaki zephyr 750 set of carbs, where do the two hoses that come from between carbs one and two and three and four go( not the vacuum hoses, or fuel hose. Are these the heater hoses?

They are fuel overflow hoses, and just hang down under the engine. If they are not vacume or fuel lines, then they must be the overflow pipes, one from each carby.

CBX550 carburettor vacuum system

Hi Simon,
Fuel over flowing from the carburators/over flow pipe means the float pins are not sealing off.
You will have to remove the carbs and the float bowls to check the pins and will have to adjust the floats too .
The vaccum fuel tap runs or rather allows fuel to pass by once the engine is running (thus creating vaccum) if you check around the inlate or the carburator mountings, in one of it you will find where to plug in tht pipe.
Hope this helps!
