Question about 1989 kawasaki GPX 250 R

Bike stalls at the lights every time, even when the bike is warm. has carbie refurbished, new plugs, oil, battery etc also been serviced. have spend $520 on service and getting it running but still stalls and idles too low (1) but when i adjust the revs it then goes to high.

What is wrong my car is missing and stalling now after service


Charles, you may have to have vehicle scanned for fault/diagnostic codes. Was car doing it before tune up etc., if not were correct parts installed, check to see that all vacuum lines are connected and not leaking and the same with wire/plugs, check for loose/damaged wires and plugs. If all looks OK to you, have a good tech. diagnose and estimate repair.

Why does my 1991 Ford Laser GL keep stalling?


possibly the vacuum hose from the top of the rocker cover or near that exhausts the fumes from the oil to the carbie is disconnected or block...or if it is automatic it could be that the transmission needs servicing.ie new filter and gasket kit bout AUD$20 and clean new transmission fluid AUD$40.. just drop the pan one side at time. catch the old fluid. when its empty remove the entire pan with care. then clean the pan and remove old filter. then insert new filter and o-ring. then line up new gasket on pan and bolt back in to specific tension. pour new fluid in to specification.warm engine in park to runing temp then check fluid level... this is all to remove the possibilty that it is the transmission and not the engine AUD$60 and 2 hours of your time..

My bike has sat for one year. I bought a new battery one year ago and drove it from my old apartment to my current one. The bike has not been started for one year. I got a used gas tank on ebay and...


Ok mate few things to consider here, if the bike has been non started and stationary for a year there is a very good chance that one of the following or all of the following has occurred.
Your battery is dead (they don't like just sitting - doesn't matter new or old, if left for extensive time they will die) Your gear / motor oil would be useless - oil can not just sit in bottom of bike for a year it would be glue
Your carbi would be blocked or partially blocked from fuel gum or varnish in jets
If you like this bike I highly recommend oil and filter change, New spark plug (put about 10 drops of oil down the spark plug hole before you put new spark plug back in to lube the piston) clean air filter (or fit new one) Remove carbi and compressed air clean all jets especially the pilot jet and circuit and stick in a new battery
Once all done for the fist start I would find a nice safe hill and push start it. in my experience under this circumstances if you rely on the electric starter you may find you burn it out trying to start so give at least few minutes running motor to flush everything through before trying to electric start would be your best bet
When you get it going I would dump the oil and oil filter again after 2 hours ride time to confirm all the old expired oil is flushed out - just to be safe

If it runs fine otherwise, check valve clearances and clean carby ,new spark plug, new oil, clean airfilter

My 1999 Polaris 335 sportsman automatic 4x4 won't fire and I have replaced....starter, battery, coil, stator, plug,cdi unit, and replaced all the fluids, and sanded the magneto. What is wrong?


you have down all the electrics ( so have spark at plug ) has to be something with the carby does the spark plug have fuel on it when you remove after trying to start if not fuel problems, does bike have T.P.S (throttle positioning sensor) some on carby, some on thumb throttle etc might be causing problems.

My yamaha xt600e starts to to choke/stall like if iit lacks gasoline every time i pass 5k rpm in 2nd,3rd,4th or 5th gear. What could it be?


You may very likely have an issue with your carbies. The jets may be gumming up with sediment over time or secondary carby needle is worn or sticking. A carby cleaning execise may be a cure or a service at your bike dealer if your not mechanically minded. The carbies are a little more complicated than the normal single carby and have more jets and slides, as well as a delayed secondary carby linkage.

Fault with electric start on my Suzuki GSF 250 Bandit


Check that the clutch is in, kick stand up, and neutral light ablaze. Then try your start button. When you had it running and hit the button, the starter engaged at a slower speed then the bike engine was turning, which led to the stall. The stall means your starter works. If the starter works when the engine is running then it is wiring. Check your kick stand wiring along with the clutch wires which plug in on the handlle bar or where the clutch cable enters the engine.

Suzuki intruder 250 Cold weather problem


There are fuel antifreeze solutions available. Being from South Louisiana, USA, I don't use them nor do I know where to find them.

Bike wont idle and power constantly dieing and recovering


check to see if you have gas in the oil from a carb leaking down which will cause the idle speed to drop when motor warms up.pick up idle run for awhile then plugs foul.like you said a carby problem.

CBR 250 not starting


Sound like you have a fuel problem.Turn the key without starting the bike listen for a slight buzzing noise it will come from where the end of the tank and the seat meet this is the fuel pump priming if you can not hear anything then most likely your fuel pump is not working.Your carbi may have grit in a jet a carbi cleaner can help.
