You are corect. an air leak between the carb and the cylinder is the problem. It is possible a bad head gasket could let in air also.

A “very helpful” rating on this answer? Thanks!

I assumed there was a carb involved when an air leak was mentioned. My bad. Any chance of a cracked injector? What controls the turbo kicking in? Fuel feed mapping going bad? I am unfamiliar with turbos and only know second hand the little that I do know about them. Sorry I wasn't more help on the problem.

Also, the FixYa system is set up such that your posting disappears once it gets a solution. You may want to Re-post your question so others can have a chance to provide an answer. Since you feel your English is less that great, I am taking the liberty to suggest the following posting.

Factory turbocharged, fuel injected Suzuki, 1984 XN85 673cc inline four cylinder can´t get lower than 2000rpm. The engine sometimes rev´s itself from 3000-4500 and you never know when it will happen. The engine often cuts out in a corner, so I let go of the throttle. That is when the bike jumps forward like a wild horse. Any turbo experts out there willing to take on a challenge?

Air is leaking through the intake manifold. Re torque all the nuts and bolts of intake manifold or replace the seals and/or gaskets of the same.

Engine reving on start

Hi there,

When cold, modern EFI engines are designed to idle higher, until the engine warms to operating temperature. The idle should then return to around 700rpm.

If your engine still revs at 2000rpm after warming up, then there is a problem with the fuel/air mixture, or a possible air or vacuum leak.

In this case, your vehicle's computer will have stored the appropriate fault code/s. Have your codes read by your local Renault dealer to determine which circuit is the cause.

My 2002 Ford Ranger starts fine just replaced the battery. After it starts it will rev up to 1800 then back down to 200. It will do this maybe 3 time before it dies. i can hold the pedel down to keep it...

probably have a vacuum leak where the Upper Ram of the Intake manifold meet the Lower Intake Manifold. Listen for a vacuum leak (hissing sound) near that point, We used to spray a small amount of Carb cleaner near the joint of the 2 Manifolds & observe for a change in the Engine speed, to verify the vacuum leak.

turbo is malfunctioning the turbo waste gate is not working take it to a shop right away, preferablly tow it so as not to damage the engine, if the exhaust gas's gets near the turbine bearings you will burn up the engine and the turbo cna explode like a hand granade and destrou your enging.

check air intake hose first, including MAF sensor (if dirty must clean) , then check for all other hoses for leaks and last but not least check air filter.

Very uneven running

Here are a few things to check check idle speed control , TPS- throttle position sensor and also very important check for vacuum leak on intake any broken hoses or intake itself gasket leaking Very possible for this problem. A simple test is when engine is running up and down use an intake cleaner (in compressed can) and spray around intake manifold if there is a vacuum leak the engine will surge up . This could man intake gasket or vacuum leak. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA.

Hello,it sounds to me that you have a vacume leak.Check a vacume tube that is under the throttle body right in the middle of the firewall and the intake manifold. This vacume tube has a rubber elbow shaped connector at the end of it on the engine side. They regularly fail.
