Yeah , I would lean towards the float and the needle and seat valve could be sticking as well. It would be a good idea to pick up a carb kit seeing that you have it apart anyway .

Sounds like fuel frothing or float sticking. Try dismantling float chamber and check gasket is not pinching float, it moves freely and float level is right. Check manifold has correct mounts and heat insulators, also, sounds daft, but bodies or dirt in fuel tank, filters and line do happen!

check air filter, might be plugged, [dirty so engine is starving for air.] check fuel lines & filters, dirt blockage need replaceing, check for fuel leaks in lines etc, uses fuel & then sucks air causing it to stop, listen to see if fuel pump is running properly & not stuttering could be short in it's wiring

code p 0457 refers to the EVAP system--leak detected
code p 0340 refers to cam shaft position sensor A bank 1--circuit malfunction == causes --wiring ---CMP sensor ---ECM
at this point I would be checking the Cam shaft position sensor and wiring as it could be failing at rpm's and causing the problem

Hello,
Sounds like the fuel pump is getting too hot and then it's causing vapour lock, therefor starving the engine. After the bike shuts off the fuel pump cools down it's allowing the fuel to flow once again. On my 2000 V11 Sport I solved this by shielding the fuel pump with an insulated foil wrap from a car parts store. Now the fuel pump stays cooler and I never had vapour lock again. Of course if your fuel pump is located in the gas tank then my suggestion will not help. Hope this helps.

Starving for fuel - may be a blocked fuel filter
