sounds like your cables are run to tight against the frame....try this..just start the bike and move the handle bars slowly from side to side if the rpms increase even a little thats probably the problem... if not its the throttle grip assembly...its a dual cable push pull system!

Ive had mine give me some issues, try these:

proper tension on throttle cables, there should be two, also make sure the rod the cables is pulling is lubricated, having clean carbs externally is just as important as internally,

SOURCE: cant remove seat from cbr 600f

after you remove the 2 side tail pieces, there are 2 bolts (one on each side) that hold the seat in place. on my 1998 cbr600f3 it's 2 12mm bolts.

What kind of maintenance should i do to my 1989 cbr 600 f to keep it in tip top running condition

  • Change gearbox oil every 3000 miles. Change oil filter every 6000 miles. Use 10w40 motor oil. NEVER use synthetic lubricants as they can mess up the clutch.
  • Oil the chain every two weeks. Lube the control cables every oil filter change.
  • Keep the gas tank full in the cold months. This lessens internal tank rusting due to condensation in the tank. Drain the carbs when the bike will sit over the winter unless you plan on starting the bike every two weeks and letting it run for 15 minutes each time.
  • Be sure the gas valve is turned off when the bike is not in use.
  • Get a 2 amp trickle charger and charge the battery once a week for 4 hours in the winter. Be sure to keep enough water in the battery to cover the top of the plates in each cell. Know that batteries only last two years or so.
  • Check the chain tension once a month during the summer riding season.

How much fork oil do i put in a cbr 600f 1990

Between 275 to 325cc but left and right will differ in amount by 25-35cc. Too much will make the rebound harfer, too little will easily and quickly destroy the fork seals.
