Drilling a 2008 aprilia rs125 cdi unit

Hi does anybody know the procedure to drill my 2008 aprillia rs125 cdi unit i have fitted the power valve but doesent seem to be working i have read that drilling the cdi unit activates the power valve if so were do i drill it

When you look at the cdi you should se a recess in the corner just a small little recess , enough for a small drill bit to fit , drill the small nipple located in the recess
and i am no expert , just persistent at researching the net

Hi... I've have aprilia rs125 97 model.. When start up the motor it can rev perfectly, but then it cannot rev more then 8000 rpm.. I've changed the plug coil ang new spark plug, but still the same.

1. Severely drained or faulty battery.
2. Faulty regulator/rectifier or high output coil.
3. Faulty power valve, solenoid or installation.
4. Clogged air filter or exhaust.
5. Cracked or incorrect float level.
6. Float needle is not seating.
7. Faulty reed valve.

Y my Aprillia rs125 2007 when on the ignition switch the meter show er5 and the clock after adjust but switch off key will become 0:00 again??

Hi i lost the keys for my w reg aprilia rs125 i have to use the bike for work so can some one help me is there a way i can start the bike without the keys


You can hot wire it ,but this means anyone can take or steal it .You could try drilling the ignition lock but again anyone can take or steal it .You could try taking the ignition unit to a lock smith he could help

Warning light


hi how did you know were 2 drill the cdi ? i have a 2008 rs i have fitted the powervale but its not working from reserch i think drilling the cdi activates the powervale but if you dont have one the light comes on on ur clock all i need 2 know is were 2 drill the cdi thanx

Warning light


The warning light and EFI will disappear once you fit power valve :)

I've got 2008 Aprilia RS125 and CDI I derestricted first.. I had warning light on until I fitted power valve.. No warning light now.

De-restrict an aprilia rs 125


Hate to disagree with tina783, but you may have restrictions in place, there is two on the aprilia rs 125. if your on a L plate then the bike should be restricted to 11.5w of power, which is about 15 bhp, when it's de-restricted should be around 34bhp. First is the power valve or a RAVE Valve as some people call it, have you got one? located on the front of the cylinder body, above the exhaust. some times the body of the power valve is there, but there is a blanking plate is underneath it. If the body of the power valve is missing, then its a blanking plate. need to get a power valve and the control unit and the solenoid, fitting is easy look around the net and you'll find one. The next one is the emissions restriction, which is in place due to italy have a real hard on about thier air. The CDI at the back of the back of the bike needs to removed and then if you look at one side you will see a rubber sealant has been used to fill in one side. You need to dig that out and snap a little piece of the circuit board and then refill the hole with a rubber sealant. try to search the net for a how to do on this you need to look at the pics and see what part of the board needs snapping, don't go blindly into this other wise you will kill the CDI. the bike then will act alot more smoothly in the lower end revs.
