Question about Yamaha YZ 450 F Motorcycles

2 Answers

I have a 2006 YZ450F that runs great when cold. As soon as it warms up it begins to pop and bog and backfire. As soon as it is hot, it stalls. I have to wait until it cools down to restart it. I have cleaned the carb, checked the hot start plunger, checked all of the intake tract. I have OHM'd out the stator when cold and it is in spec. PLEASE help! thanks!

Try Power Now - from Scary Fast and it goes in the carbuerator - helps with popping, and gives you better low end with quicker throttle response. And you could get boysen quick shot - it bolts onto the carb and helps as well - google it - I have the same bike and that's how I solved it! Good Luck

Misfireing when hot

My first suggestion would be to replace the spark plug. It is likely cracked and when hot, misfiring. If this doesn't help then check the valve adjustments (Tappet). If too tight(small) they will cause the valve leak when hot and misfire/backfire.

I hope this helps. Please post feedback.

Have you checked Google I found this hopefully it's not your timing or it may be flooded but doubtful have you tried spraying starting fluid into the intake while cranking it
