Do I need to disconnect the gas valve and remove the main burner tray assembly to access the pilot generator or thermocouple?
SOURCE: My pool heater will not ignite. I turned it on
That would be the thermal couple. When the pilot light is lit then it heats the thermal couple. When power is sent from the thermostat it opens the gas valve as long as the thermal couple is heated from the pilot light. Even though the pilot light is heating the thermal couple, the thermal couple is not telling the gas valve that there is a pilot light. So this means that the thermal couple needs replaced. This is very common.

check for continuity at all control and safety components,i.e. press switch, high limits,thermostat,on/off switch and flame roll out switch
SOURCE: Jandy Lite 2 does not ignite
burners are plug with spider get a wire and bended get it inside the orifices where the gas come out every single one than try now ? magic heater comes on

Do you replace the thermopile or check the milivolts?
Check the Pressure gas
You need replace all of them terminals and check again the milivolts at the gas valve
SOURCE: pool heater stays lit for approx. 30 seconds then
Problem with the thermocoupler its not producing a minivolt of 250 plus
that is needed to open the main gas valve
