Question about 2007 Suzuki Boulevard

1 Answer

I just had my first service done and now the bike is not idling the same. Took it out the day after service and it would stall when I would come to a stop. Also having to give it gas at start up now or electric start wont work. what could they have done wrong on the first service to have these problems start happening?

If they replaced the plugs and air filter, they may have adjusted the idle - incorrectly.
Take it back - they screwed up and should fix it.

check for the pinched vacuum line at the carb,, sportys are hard to locate because they are tucked in way behind , it ay have come disconnected, unless there is a load on the motor it will idle fine, add a little load and you get the feeling no fuel is getting through unless you rev it up

Idled high, replace IAC and PCV, now idles low and stalls

On modern day cars the parts that get fitted need to be adapted to the ECM using a decent diagnostic machine. I bet that this was not done and the car is now suffering as a result.
Something to try is resetting the ECU, simply disconnect battery for 10 minutes, reconnect, then start car from cold *without touching gas pedal* and leave idling until the rad fan comes on (this resets all the base idle settings) then take it for a drive - hopefully will solve the problem

My 2005 Katana is stalling left and right

Has the bike been sitting for any time longer than 4 days? 4 days is enough to clog idle jets. Cleaning the carbs if it has carbs, is the first defense against idle to low rpm stalls. Pull the carbs and clean them out. Definitley will help you out.
