Question about 1999 Honda VT 1100 C Shadow Spirit
How do I properly time my 1999 honda shadow vt1100? I dumped the bike in the sand, when it was laying on it's left side it was still running. I shut it off, picked it up and waited a few then started back up. went about 100 yards then shut down. Since then it will only idle, if I hit the throdle, it dies. When it is idling it sounds as good as before. Does it sound like a carb isue? I know the timing is off so how do I set the timing on it as well?
You probably knocked the carbs when it went over - check for air leaks at the manifold - that will give the symptom you describe.
Go for the big things first - get it running before you try and tune it...
