If your clippers have a large plastic (or nylon) screw on the side, they are probably magnetic (as different from pivot motor or rotary motor). With the clippers running, turn the screw in (clockwise) until the clippers make a lot more noise. Then turn the screw back out until the noise significantly diminishes. Go out another quarter turn and they should be set to run correctly, although this may not be your problem with cutting.
Good luck.

* Check your warranty and call for service.

* Normally I would suggest cleaning and tightening the 2 blade holder screws as in a normal "Human" hair clipper. But I noticed this pet clipper uses a snap on blade (or a combo blade as shone in "Blade Maint" video. Looks like it's mostly cleaning though I have seen other vids with clippers going dull during pet "rescues" having to trim matted hair. One lady used 2 blades and ending up using a 3d blade. It could be just that; really thick dirty hair. Dirt and grime is a collection of stone dust and oils after all.

hi, on some ocassions when the clippers get hot the metal gear shaft moves meaning the movement of the clipper is limited, you can remove they gears in the gearbox when its hot and see if there is any side to side movement.

Difficulty shaving Spanish Water Dog

The biggest issue with clipping animals (except sheep which use completely different clippers) is that once you have sharpened blades, you need to go slow and keep then blades oiled and cooled. The KOOL spray by oster works great and the clippers you are using are a good reliable brand and model. When clipping my cocker/schnauzer cross, I have a 1/2 inch guard on it (have to use a 30 or 40 blade with the guards) and it takes about an hour. I stop every 10 minutes or so to let them cool down, spray and oil them.

A rattle problem with my Oster Golden A5 Clipper!

The screws on the side of the housing don't serve any purpose other than keeping the brush and spring in the clipper. You can send your blade in for realignment or call 800-830-3678(factory service) and they will help you with all your issues.

How to use clipper attachments...

Used against the scalp, around the ear, on the left and right side... working against the growth direction from behind the ear to the front of the ear.... The angle of the back of the taper guide comb makes it easy to create a smooth, progressive, natural taper along the edge of a men's clipper cut. Do this after you have used a regular guide comb to take down the general perimeter length and you will have a nice tapered edge to the clipper cut around the ears.
