Probably a short in the system. Check all your fuses and if there is still a problem take the machine to Yamaha for repair. It might be a warranty claim.

Sorry, I just asked a question. My question pertains to a motorcycle. I have a yamaha yzs r6 that that turns over several times before it starts and I'm trying to find out what the problem could be.

To me it would have to be in the fuel system...when it starts does it smoke at all..like a black smoke or a white smoke..? Maybe move the handle bars side to side when trying to start it...just in case it is electrical from the wiring near the handlebars..as in a short...or lack of a connection at the connector from the key switch..I hope this helps...

Is there a way to raise the handle bar on my r6 2004

You can buy ready made Handlebar Risers, they come in pairs and are sized by handlebar diameter and of course the extended height you are after.
Risers are available from most bike accessory stores and are a simple bolt on item. Care must be taken with elongation of control cables, wiring and throttle "feel". Harley shops have gazillions of them, but at a premium of course. Cheers.
