Question about 1991 Honda XR 250 R

My XR 1991 250r is just not kicking over, there is a very weak spark there, could the coil be faulty ?

I would suspect the battery and charging system long before the coil. Does the battery have water covering the plates in each cell? Put a 1 amp trickle charger on it overnight. Now see what you have.

No, the coil works or it don't work. Take a look at the magneto, check your gap on the spark plug, and check the magneto and see if it is rusted. Your spark plug wire might also be cracked.

My 1996 xr 250r wont start drom the kickstart but it will start if you pushstart it can any one help me??

Hi
If the kick-start is seized or lacks resistance when you try to turn it then the mechanism will have to be investigated
If the kick-start feels normal, the spark is good when kicking her over & the performance is well down then there is probably a lack of compression

No spark

get a copper wire and get it connected to any metal object like a bicycle.

then get another copper wire connected to the the spark plug's connector cap. rub the wires while kicking the bike start or trying it to start, if no spark goes off, meaning you have to change your coils, or something is disconnected or burnt from the coil
