Misses at 3200 rpm

If you mean by Misses a vibration that occurs at 3000 to 3500, this is a shudder from the clutch basket. This happens to all 90 degree V-Twins, it is a harmonic between the firing pulse and the take up of the springs in the clutch basket. The basket won't fail but is a commonly complained problem. If the problem is a misfire I would go to your dealer and have the low end fueling increased, also check the Throttle position sensor.

My 07 v-strom wants to die on me when I engage

Make sure you full travel on the clutch lever. If it has been bent closer to the bars, it may not be releasing the clutch fully. If this is so, heat the lever up fairly hot to prevent the lever breaking if you try to straighten it. There should be about 3/4 inch of free play at the lever end. Hope this helps.

My suzuki dl 1000 k5 hiccups at 2200--4300 rpm

have seen this many times on different bikes. the manufacturers have to get their bikes to pass emission (pollution) tests, and noise tests. these tests are usually done at the same rpm, therefore the manufacturers program the ecu to make the bike run weak on fuel at that rpm. causes what we call a 'flat spot'

can think of no other reason or it would do it throughout the rev range. don't forget that after a distance on neutral throttle, the fuelling will be very weak as the bike doesn't need much then anyway. usual answer is to get ecu re programmed, or fit dynojet power commander, a plug in electrical box, will sort out all the rubbish and make it run properly. do a google search for dynojet and read their stuff.

Torque setting

I don't work on many Suzuki's so I don't need a service manual. But I believe you will find several at the site below. The site has free PDF downloads. I hope this helps!

Fuel consumption

Real Life experiance, if you ride your bike at high speeds, even with Over Drive engaged, I end up doing about 180~200 miles per 5~5.25 gallons which breaks out to about 36~38 mpg.

Course, slowing it down to 60~65, in OT will get you another 25~35 miles per tank extra. If you need better MPG, suggest the 650 for the job, The litter is solid for rider/passenger, as the 650 is more for the rider only with added mileage clearly in the 40+mpg rating..
