Its probably like the gas model. so you remove the 2 nuts holding on the side cover of the blade side, remove the cover and the blade and chain. To fit back, slacken the adjuster screw a little bit, or if fitting a new chain then a fair amount, as you have to be careful that the pin on the adjuster fits into the proper hole on the saw bar, as you fit back on the bar, of which you have already cleaned out the grooves. supporting the bar in the slackest position, fit on the chain, making sure that the cutting edge at the bottom is coming towards the motor. Then slide the bar and chain away from the motor to take up the slack, then fit back the metal guide in the original position, fit cover with the adjuster pin in its hole on the bar, and replace the 2 nuts almost tight but slack enough to use the adjuster to set the chain to cutting position..slightly sagging on the sprocket nose type, or snug on the solid nose type..then tighten the cover 2 nuts firmly but not excessively as that will damage the machine..NB the bar & chain depends on the adjuster, not on the nuts tightness to maintain tension

This sounds like a kink in the chain and I would try a new chain because this can be a very small kink and very difficult to find and straighten out. If you must put the chain saw in a vise by clamping the bar and run the chain back and forth from the sprocket to the bar grove under operating tension and locate the misalignment at the bargrove. Now you have located the problem but the fix is still sweat away, and with some luck you may be able to spring the chain straight and have the link flexable to opporate without a hitch.

I tried a couple locations and found a site that might help go to psep.biz and it will direct you to the blowup. It also indicated that it needed a type number so have that handy. If this doesn't help let me know and I will research further.

Chain is probably stretched. SAFETY FIRST. Electric saw, make sure power is unplugged. Gas saw, make sure sparkplug wire is removed. Remove the cover where the bar is attached to the saw. U should see an adjustment screw for chain tension and one or more bar lockdown screws. Loosen the lockdown screws and turn the tension adjustment screw to permit the bar to slide back toward the motor. Put the chain back in the bar track all the way around. Adjust the tension screw to tighten chain enough you can't pull it out of the track at any spot. Slide the chain by hand at least one complete revolution feeling for any rough spots. If it moves freely, turn the tension screw enough to tighten the chain properly. Correct tension should allow you to pull the chain appx. 1/16 to 1/8 inch from the bar. Tighten the lockdown screws, replace the cover. Rotate chain by hand a couple of revolutions again to check for smoothness again before starting the saw.
