SOURCE: I would like to know how to lower my honda shadow
When lowering bikes, we usually lessen or cut the shock absorbers (front and back).
Accessory places have lowering blocks, they are just a small metal
accessory that move the bottom of the rear shocks to the rear and down,
I think you get 1.5 inches from them. Then you need to cut or get shorter springs in the front, either will probably make the ride stiffer in the front.

You do not have to remove the final drive , the wheel is resting on a spline shaft. Center stand the motorcycle or lift the rear wheel, remove the axle bolt, knock out the spacer, and slide the brake panel out of the way. Now the wheel is resting only on a splined shaft. Grab the wheel and gently slide it away from the final drive ( off the splined shaft ) and roll it out the back of the wheel well. When replacing the wheel be sure to get some MOLY60 paste from the Honda dealer and grease the spline before putting the wheel back on.

You probably have some gelled gas in the carbs. Take off the fuel line going into the carbs and spray some carb cleaner directly into the bowls. This may take care of a minor clog. If this does not work , you will have to take the carbs off and clean the slow jets and slow circuit passageways before the bike will idle normally again.

Center stand the bike or jack it up to get the rear wheel off the ground ,loosen the rear axel nut, take out the bolt, knock out the spacer on the brake panel, unhook the brake cable , unbolt the bar going to the brake panel, grab the wheel, and slide it sideways away from the final drive. The wheel should slide right off the spline of the final drive and roll out the back under the fender. If the wheel wont slide past the final drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat the spline of the final drive with moly60 paste from your local Honda dealer when reassembling.
SOURCE: how much oil does a 2004 honda shadow aero 750
it takes between 3-4 quarts but that model has a dip stick on the oil cap so use it to check as you fill, also make sure to only use motorcycle oil,car oils break down to fast and were not designed for motorcycle use, honda makes a very good oil, i would use a 10w-40 for cold weather and 20w-50 for hot weather, also i would suggest a synthetic oil, it will shift easier and make those movable parts last allot longer.
