Question about 2002 Yamaha YZF-R1
I have a 2002 R1 with 15k miles.
when i get to 8k-9k RPM and pull the throtle the engine "slips" to high RPM without providing the power and tourqe.
what can it be? it feels like u r puling and releasing the clutch slowly in the middle of an acceleration.
also i notice that if you try to wheelie the engine will slip and the back wheel swirl a bit instead of getting the bike to wheelie.
From the sounds of your riding style (wheelies, etc.) you have burnt out the clutch.
No matter how much fun you think it is, Yamaha never designed them to be a toy to do wheelies. It is a sportsbike designed to go round corners fast.
The only silver lining is, hopefully the cost of replacing the clutch will stop you riding like a fool in future.
