    no, put 1200 top end off of 4 speed ,no breathers in head

If you are referring to oil that is on the air cleaner....? Welcome to the world of Harley. Here is what happens, as the pistons move up and down they displace air in the crankcase, this air churns up oil mist and has to go somewhere right? Well it does it eventually if need be comes out the little breather tube into your air filter...if you have a lot of mist it soaks the air filter and drips down then gets blown usually in my case on my leg.
How can you fix this? It could be the umbrella seals in your heads are tired or worn, to replace these is fairly easy just a pain, and yes if you drop something in the head....costly to recover sometimes. If the seals are okay there are a number of aftermarket fixes like Mystic or something like that. You are look at a couple of hundred bucks in parts for that option. Been there done that on my 10.5CR 103" build. Hope this helps.

883 to 1200 conversion.


Hi Anonymous, the only sure way to figure out what you have is measure the bore of the cylinders and the diameter of the piston skirt and should be some where in the neighborhood of 3.5" for a 1200 cc bore and 3.0" for and 883 cc bore. Good luck

Tickover to fast when warmed up.


I don't know the term tickover. If you mean it idles to high then lower the idle. It's a carbed bike right? Idle screw is on backside near front of carb but remember these Twin cams run on oil volume not oil pressure. The bike needs to idle between 1000 - 1200 rpm to maintain proper oil circulation. If you turn the idle down to get that lope or potatoe sound from the bike you can starve the engine of oil and burn it up. These aren't throw away rice rockets of yesteryear.

Not quite sure with the conversion, but i used to ride gsf before and the engine oil changed was 3.5 liters...you can have a try . make your oil sight glass as your reference...Bike should be at center stand or straight enough.

Yes, Honda recommends 10w-40 year round. For hot weather or for long trips 20w-50 is good. Use only JASO MA certified motorcycle oil . DO NOT use any oil that says ENERGY CONSERVING on the label. It will shorten transmission gear and wet clutch life. Both Amsoil and Mobil One make excellent full synthetic motorcycle oils. Your engine will run cooler and shift smoother. You should also consider synthetic hypoid gear oil in your rear end, it will also benefit from less friction and will run cooler .

Oil leak


excessive oil comming from breathers combined with the pipes being black could be blowby depending how long ago the conversion was done if it was just done someone didnt check ring clearance or put a ring in upside down if it wasnt just done proabley time to start saving for a top end job till then nothing you can do but ride it

Have an '06 XL1200C, and it seems to throw oil back through the air filter and gets all over the oil tank and blows up onto the seat. I have ****** pipes and installed a K&N air filter. Any ideas why I...


check to make sure oil level is full to proper level and check oil brether tube that attaches to both heads should be connected air filter houseing. may have blockage

My car has the oil light on


First - did you use the correct viscosity - SAE spec ?
Using a thiner oil can affect oil pressures.
Presuming that you did, and oil levels are ok, then I would check if this is a standard service light come one. They are programmed to light after a certain milage since the last change - and this seems likely if you have just done it (before light came on to remind you)

Try resetting it. This works for most models -
Turn ignition on - so you get display/ lights etc.
Set trip meter to show milage.
Turn ignition off.
Press trip meter button - and keep pressing it while turning ignition to on again.
Light should blink and go out.
Take finger off trip meter.
Depending on model - you may get some figures - 1200 , 800 , etc. This alows you to change service interval if you want - but if not - then just turn ignition off again.
Light should stay off.

If this doesn't solve it, I'll look for specific info of how to do it - or start checking other possible causes to check.

i just did a 883/1200 conversion new jugs and piston i put in a set of used 1200 f1 cams and heads now i have an oil pressure problem at idle ???????

Low fuel rail pressure


who did a conversion on this truck???? the duramax is a common rail engine and can not handle wvo or sve. it will destroy your entire fuel system in no time on this truck. if you want to do a vo conversion you need to get a diesel with an inline injection pump or one of the older powerstrokes. i would suggest you quit trying to run wvo through this truck if you do not want to do a lot of very expensive damage

Check your " FUEL FILTER " for clogging. Work backwards toward the fuel supply tank, Hope this helps.
