Question about 1985 Yamaha XJ 700 X Maxim

Someone stole both coilpacks off my bike.i got replacements but have no clue where #1 is, is it L toR or R toL and is the coil on the L for the #1cylinder

Since both one and 4 are fired using the same coilpack if the location of the coilpack is easy to get to you can swap it with the 3/2 coil pack and see if the miss moves to 3/2 thus eliminating the ignition module and related circuits and confirming the coil is faulty

I have a Kulana Sun Fire 26 inch bicycle. Someone stole the seat, including the seat post, what parts do I need to buy to replace the seat?

You'll need the seat and seatpost (duh) and possibly the hardware to secure the post to the frame. Since there are a lot of different seat post sizes out there, your best bet is to take the bike to a bike shop who can size out the frame for the right post and help out with the parts you'll need.

I have a 93 Geo Tracker with 200000 miles on it. it stalled out in my driveway. we cahnged the fuel pump and the fuel filter. its getting gas but has no spark. Where do we start

4 possibilities 1 crank sensor, 2 ignition control module, 3 ECM, coil/ coilpack. Check codes first this will point you towards the right direction.
If there are no codes then go to the coil/ coilpack

Its a little heisitation wen i pull off its kind of slugish someone told me jt could be my coilpacks or spark plugs

They may be right, a bad coilpack will cause this problem, a good thing to do first would be to have the computer scanned for codes, the codes will tell you what cylinder is misfiring, there are lots of autopart stores that will scan for free, these are known for bad coil packs they recommend replacing all when one goes bad but its to costly i would just replace the bad one and depending on the mileage i would install new sparkplugs and a fuel filter, hope this helps,good luck.

Engine misfire

Check the coilpacks, coil leads and clips for shorting or,arcing ( Fire the bike up in the dark and have a look). There are two coil packs so try swapping them and see if the fault changes cylinders, that will isolate the problem.

Check the igniter. Go back to the dealer and ask him to see one. Then go back and find it on your bike. Yamaha's usually have them under the seat, or left side. But I don't know exactly what year you have. Run the VIN on the frame under my tips and tricks is a web site that'll break it down for you.

Car sputters and no power, now it will not crank

Check the coil pack. they are common to fail and the engine will usually misfire for a while and then not start when it gets cold out. you can do a quick check by removing one plug wire at a time and having someone crank the engine. the spark should jump right down the tower the wire goes onto to the base of the coilpack. if this does not happen then you need to replace the coilpack first. take the 6 tork head screws out and remove the wiring under it that goes to the module. carefull not to mix up the wires under the coilpack or to the spark plugs. reinstall the coilpack and reinstall the plug wires and try to start the engine. i will look for a response incase you need more help. good luck.

TORS question

I think you'll be allright. When I put TORS on my bike, I found that I hardly needed any extra jetting at all. I put in slightly larger jets and I am now running fairly rich, so i would think the EFI can handle it. Give your dealer a call maybe.
