Question about 2000 kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan Classic Tourer Fi

Have a vn 1500 kawasaki meanstreak prob is gear change im gettin vibration when goin in to 2nd 3rd etc it was a nice clunk clunk when i got it now the vibration makes gear change difficult.had a look at clutch & friction plates they were dry so soaked in oil overnight not solved this prob.any ideas anyone?

First gear engages but slips out when try to take off


the gear teeth are prob worn. see if it will try to moves off in 3rd without jumping out of gear if so then its not the lever/linkage it is the gear teeth inside the gearbox and needs to be repaired or replaced

that would not be a wise move car tires are not designed like motorcycle tires for cornering pressure that will also be found on the tire sidewall .

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for but I scoured the web and found nothing the best thing I can recommend is to call your local bike shop they should be able to tell you with in a matter of a couple minutes.

What is the gear ratios and final drive ratios on a vulcan 1500


For the gears:


Gear ratios:1st 2.500 (40/16) 2nd 1.590 (35/22) 3rd 1.192 (31/26) 4th 0.965 (28/29) 5th 0.781 (25/32) Final Reduction Ratio 2.619 (15/21 x 33/9) and the final drive is a shaft drive.

this fault is probably your carbs need balancing, this should sort the revs rising and falling.
