Metal flakes in the motor oil on a drz 400

How many hours on bike? How many metal flakes? There will always be some metal flakes in oil. On new bike you will see more during a break in period. May or May not be a problem depending on the amount of metal flakes and hours on engine

I want to know if there is a way to get the magneto out with out using a proper magneto puller

Hi,
There is a way, but be carefull when pulling out that magneto's magnetic cover, you might scratch and break the stator winding, that happens to me without using the puller screw, cost me $50.!
Just go to YouTube.com and type model of your bike and what your going to do. lots of video will be shown, but most of Suzuki's have the same style!
Hope that helps you out!
Thanks for asking FixYa!

Can anyone help with tuneup speci's for DRZ-250 1985 model

The stator should be ok if not touched. Change plugs. If stator has been moved buy a shop manual and follow directions

My suzuki drz 400 seems to drain the battery and and wont keep any sort of charge, ive even bought a couple new batteries and had the same problem

check that all the wire connections are good, start at the 3 stator leads and follow it to the rectifier and to the battery, also if you have a multimeter, rev the bike up to 3000 revs and hook up the multimeter to the battery (positive to positive and neg - neg), this will give you the charging voltage, should be between 13-15 volts dc, if its not, it could be a bad stator, but is more likely to be the regulator rectifier unit

They should be around 33hp at the rear wheel. They should wheelie ok, though you will need to try a bit for decent ones.
