If it's been sitting for a few months, theres a pin sized hole the gas flows through and it usually gets clogged. My would turn over and almost start, then start for a second and as soon as I gave it gas it would die out. It was getting a small amount of gas through the clog but not enough to start it everytime. It would start 1 in 10 tries as the seeping gas would build up enough to almost start. yours could be clogged up. Hope this helps.

No gas to spark plug on atv

carb float/needle sticking opening the carb drain will provide evidence if fuel is reaching fuel bowl, if fuel is present then i would suspect the carb is gummed up and it will need to be cleaned ( all jets/passages ) another area could be that the gas cap vent/line is plugged not allowing fuel to flow by gravity feed.

Have a 03 yamaha raptor 80 electric start it whet through a puddle now it wont start. it gets gas has compression. has some spark ,not sure its enough. i cant get it to fire at all didnt have this model...

it sounds like you sucked in water through the air box take the front of and see if its wet if it is then you will need to clean the carb as the bowl will be full of water once you have done that remove the spark plug and give it a clean too with luck that should have cured the problem if it hasnt then maybe you have broken a piston ring when you sucked in the water

hope this helps

Same problem o6 Raptor 80 will not start

Get a compression tester to see if she has plenty of compression or take spark plug out ,put your finger over plug hole and turn engine over. you should feel a pressure forcing your finger away.

Yamaha 2001 Raptor 660, need to clean my carb

Drain and replace the gas with fresh.
Remove the air cleaner and spray carb cleaner into the inlet. Work your throttle a little then put everything back together and try to start it.
