Hi, Ray here are some options for lowering your bike depending on your needs and wallet:
1. Rear shock lowering kit.
2. Front fork lowering kit.
3. Shorter rear shocks.
4. Shorter front forks.
5. Thinner padded seat.

1985 Honda aspencade battery doesnt seem to charge

How old is the battery. Unfortunately it's one of those things that need to be replaced every season if your bike is stored during the winter. Once you have a new one and it reaches winter again, do your best to crank and run your bike at least once a week and let if idle for 20-45min.

Derbi senda xtreme sm 50 bike ticks over and won't stay ticking and won't tick when choke is on or if throttle is opened maybe to do with carb ?

Hi, Marley and the usual suspects are:
1. Idle speed improperly adjusted.
2. Inlet system air leak.
3. Leaking accelerator pump.
4. Loose low-speed jet.
5. Plugged low-speed jet.
6. Contaminated or plugged low-speed circuit.
7. Enrichner valve is not seated or leaking.

Engine surges at ideal

That is a common problem to dirty low idle or low speed jets in the carbs. You will need to have the carbs cleand. You can try running some Tectron fuel system cleaner. If the bike has been sitting I would bet that you will need to have the carbs cleaned.

Low speed wobble/swerve

is it the chain that tightens or the wheel? If its the chain then you have a 'tight spot' to cure , rotate until tight then loosen the chain adjuster so the tight spot disappears, if its the wheel bearings they need replacing. it could also be a warped rear disc.
