Is it normal for the volume to adjust on the CD player when coming to a stop and to increase gradually as you speed up in an 04 Titan?

  • agoodman Jun 28, 2009

I bought the vehicle used, and it did not come with an owners manual.

    But thanks for your help.

You wouldn't know how to shut it off by chance, would you?

Yes. It is called smart sound. If you don't like it there should be button to shut it off. Look in the owners manual in the radio section. Nissian might call this something else.

2005 Impala cruise won't hold speed. The cruise seems to work kind of.

Check the linkage at the advance to se if it is broken. Some are by mechanical connection and others are by vacuum. If vacuum you have developed a leak and must replace the controler to make it work again.

Ford Focus radio/cd player. FM goes off for no reason , then comes back on, on its own. Switching it on and off does not make any difference. Checked supply voltage all ok as is the earth. Joe

Worth checking whether it's not just traffic news coming on. The volume level is independent to the normal level and if you've lowered the volume at some point in the past it will remember that level.

Radio continues to fade in and out, plays for awhile fades out

Need more information on this if possible.

It may be the speed volume is enabled on your radio, does it fade out when you start to come to a stop? Some vehicles have a speed volume setting in their radios in which the radio raises and lowers the volume during driving conditions, like when your comming to a stop, the volume will automatically lower and during faster driving speeds will rise to a higher volume.

Hope this helps

Carburator tune up of charadade 1992 sedan. The engine is running too fast while idle at 1200 r.p.m.

Before you start check the status of your choke. One that is stuck on will cause a high idle. If the choke checks out, proceed to the following:

You should have what's called a 2 needle carburetor. A larger screw adjustment for idle, and a smaller for high speed.

Start by adjusting your low speed (idle) needle until you reach the desired idle. I prefer about 850rpms. Do this with the engine running and adequately warmed so that your adjustments are not thrown off by the automatic choke.

Next slowly open up the high speed needle. As you open it your idle speed will gradually increase. Adust it in 1/8 turn increments, pausing after each adjustment to allow the changes to take affect. Keep opening it until you stop increasing your rpms, then take it back 1/8 of a turn.

Next readjust your idle mixture screw so that your idle is back down to 850rpms.
