The drain plug is #10 here.Use 2 lit of oil, run the engine for a couple of minutes and then add some more to reach the level a bit above the middle between the lines on the glass gauge on the right hand crankcase cover.Measuring must be done with the bike standing straight and not on it's kick or middle stand.
There isn't any maintenance to be done to the transmission, apart from the clutch if your friction disks need to be replaced. The tranny is inside the engine and it is lubricated by the oil pump with the engine's oil.The only way to inspect it is to overhaul the engine.

How many oil drain plugs on a 2001 FXD and what other fluids should be changed when doing an oil change?

I'm not a Twin Cam mechanic but I think there are two oil drains on the bottom of the transmission. The oil tank for your bike is on the bottom of the transmission. It looks like there is a drain on the bottom of the pan and one on the front. The oil should be changed every 3000 miles if you're using petroleum based oil. Synthetic oil can go a bit longer. The primary oil and transmission oil should be changed every 5000 miles or so. The primary drains from a pipe plug underneath the primary back near the rear of gearcase. The transmission drains from a plug underneath.

Good Luck

Need to change transmission fluid, PLEASE assist. is there a drain plug or does it need to be sucked out with high power equipment?

While some vehicles are equipped with a transmission drain plug, most are not. The ones that are not equipped require you to drop the transmission pan to drain the oil, which is a good idea anyway because there is a filter inside the pan which should be changed when you change the fluid. Look under your car and locate the transmission pan. If it has a plug it will usually be located on the back side of the pan. If it does not have a plug, the easiest way to drain the pan is to remove the screws from all but one side of the pan. When you have screws left in only one side, steadily loosen the remaining screws a few turns at a time allowing to pan to tilt slowly downward releasing the fluid steadily and avoiding a big mess. While you have the pan off, be sure to replace that transmission fluid filter and pan gasket. They usually come in a set. Hope this helps you out. Have a good day!

With 2005 Peugeot 407 2.2 engine how often is regular maintenance done or at what intervals and when is the timing due to be serviced? Thank you

maintenance as in basic? Oil changes depend on the type of oil you use. General idea is about every 5000 miles, air filter and spark plug wires and spark plugs should be checked at 18k miles. not sure how long you've owned the car. The timing belt should be replaced at 100k miles, despite what your dealer says. Earliest at 80k miles.

Cannot locate oil plug drain for my 2001 Fat Boy FLSTF

So I checked another Harley maintenance book of mine, and it says "On pre-2000 Softails, the drain is on the right side of the tranny near the dipstick. On the 2000 and later Softails, the drain is located on the bottom between the two shock absorbers. The drain plug on Dynas and FLs is located on the bottom of the transmission case next to the oil drain."

I got this from another site, I was going to say, it might not be on the bottom, but I found this, seems nobody can find it. Hope this helps.

Where is the oil drain plug on 2007 Heritage Softtail Classic and how to change oil?

Look at the bottom of the oil tank from the right side of the bike. You'll see one hose or pipe that goes downwards towards the back of the transmission. The hose will follow the frame and come out way down low on the backside of and slightly under the transmission. There is a plug in the hose or pipe. Take the plug out and the oil tank will drain.

To change the oil, drain the tank, change the oil filter, refill with three quarts of oil in the tank. You also have oil in your primary that should be changed every 5000 miles or so, and the transmission serviced at the same interval as the primary.

To drain the oil on the primary, there is a drain plug under the primary case at the very rear of the case. Remove this to drain the case. Refill the primary through the derby cover. Fill with oil until the level is just to the bottom edge of the clutch spring. 38-42 ounces of oil. Do not overfill or the clutch will drag and make finding neutral with the engine running impossible to find.

To drain the transmission, there is a small plug on the bottom side of the chrome cover on the right side of the transmission. Remove the plug, drain the tranny, and refill through the large plug that takes a hex key in the chrome cover. 20-24 ounces of transmission lube.

Good Luck

Where is the oil drain on 07 streetglide?

Although I'm not that familiar with the StreetGlide, I think it's a variant of the Road King. If the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission, there will be two drain plugs on the bottom of the transmission. One in the middle of the tranny and on towards the front left side. The one on the front left side is the oil drain. The one in the center is the transmission oil drain.

If in doubt, loosen the plug just enough to allow a few drops to seep out and look at what comes out. It should be dark colored and not smell like gear oil. Capacity is probably four quarts 20W50 petroleum based or synthetic oil. The bike came from the factory with H-D Syn3 oil in it.

Where is the oil filter?

on most vehicles the oil filter is can shaped and mounted on the engine block, and will be found from under neath of the vehicle to change the oil 1 jack the front of the vehicle and secure it on stands 2 place a collection pan under the vehicle (large enough to hold the vehicles oil capacity) 3 remove the plug on the bottom of the oil pan to allow oil to drain 4 use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter (it will contain oil as well) 5 allow several minutes for oil to drain, the longer the better 6 replace the plug 7 pour some oil into the new filter, and oil the rubber gasket on the new filter 8 replace the filter by hand (do not use filter wrench to tighten) 9 tighten the new filter by hand to one full turn after the gasket touches the engine and no tighter 10 refill from the top of the engine to vehicles oil capacity with recommende weigth of oil note. the engines capacity and the engines capacity with filter differ for the filter will hold oil as well 11 lower the vehicle from jack stands change every 3000 miles when driving in town change every 5000 miles when driving on highway

I had the service done (oil change)specifically asking to check all fluids 6 days ago on my 2007 VW Jetta 2.5 sedan. after driving 288 miles from Ca to NV and back and then 40 miles Santa Clarita while on...

Yes the fluid is transmission fluid that is leaking, not knowing the year of your Jetta. The newer Jetta's have a sealed transmission and needs to be checked by a scan tool, here is the instruction.

Locate the transmission. On the low right hand side (passenger side) of the transmission is a small service plug. Place a drain bucket strategically beneath the plug and remove it with a hand wrench. A small amount of transmission fluid should trickle out indicating that the fluid level is okay. VW recommends during these maintenance service interval checks to test the temperature of the transmission fluid using a scan tool. VW also recommends replacing the transmission check plug each time it is removed. If any transmission fluid is needed to be added, locate and remove the fill plug that is on the front left upper corner by the oil pan. Add a little bit of fluid at a time through this portal while watching the check level portal and as soon as it begins to trickle out from that outlet, the transmission fluid level is full.

Good luck and hope they did replace the check plug to ensure a good seal again.
