I had the same problem.. choke cable had to be adjusted. Check the manual, I don't have mine handy but the measurement is in there.. check it out.

Fresh gas and sparkplugs should clean it up. also check your air filter, they make common homes for mouse nests.

On my 2003 ninja 250 the only way it starts most of the time is full choke, after the bike is warm I lower the choke and it does....the I have to let it set for a few minutes to restart it,

Hi, Pirate and the usual suspects are:

1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.

2. Fuel filter clogged.

3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.

4. Float needle and seat sticking.

5. Float level too low.

6. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.

7. Idle adjusting screw set too low.

8. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.

9. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.

10. Slow fuel jet clogged.

2002 ninja 250 idels good runs bad with no power band and sounds like its running on two cylinders but both exhaust pipes get hot,it just doesnt sound like a ninja should,i put new plugs with no change

The power band on a 2002 Ninja 250 does not kick in till you hit about 5000 RPM. The newer 2008 and up 250's kick in about 3000 RPM. There is a website devoted to the Ninja 250 that might give your more background into the motorcycle: ninjette.org You may want to replace your spark plug caps they may be robbing of the spark you need at take off. They simply unscrew off of the end of the wires. They should read 5000 OHM's no higher , no lower. If you purchase new NGK brand plug caps they will only cost about $5 each.

Hello I have e ninja 08 250 and in the morning when is a little cold, I used the ckoke but the iding doen't go up.What i should do ?

My 2009 does not idle up right away either . I usually just hold the slightest pressure on the throttle for 10-30 seconds till it idles up or starts to idle by itself. Like my Honda's the ninja is cold blooded and just likes to be tended when cold. I only have 600 miles on mine so I have not had a lot of experience with this model. A good source of information can be found on the website : ninjette.org.

Kawasaki Ninja 250 running problem

This could be due to timing screw being incorrectly set
Locate gold timing screw on the carbrettta turn it clockwise only slightly till bike idles without choke on, Then when choke it on it should idle a touch higher.

Choke problem

Hi, Cnizio if you take your bike to a dealer for a specific issue that costs outrageous amounts of money only to have the same problem 2 days later your situation is not unique unfortunately and it is a double edged sword. First, you suffer the emotional stress and frustration of spending all your hard earned "Drachma" and your bike does not get fixed. Second, comes the realization that not only are the technicians incompetent but also the service manager for not doing anything about it, this isn't rocket science, it's a glorified lawn mower engine with extra cylinders and carburetors sometimes. You need to put an end to all the double talk, dancing around the issue, and a we don't care attitude, but how you ask, very simple you exercise the "nuclear option" go back to the dealer and ask to speak to the owner or general manager if the owner is not there, then with a straight face and polite voice you ask him/her if they can provide you with the name and contact phone number of the person at your brand motorcycle headquarters in your country that can recommend a repair facility that will fix your bike because your local dealer either can not or will not. I guarantee you that is all the grease you need to get someone to light a fire under the proper persons rear end to resolve your issue "toot sweet" For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the blue links below. Good luck and have a wonderful day.

2008 ninja 250 it starts but as u give it gas it stutters and dies i sprayed water on the left exhaust and it not as hot as the right side

I would start off by removing the fuel tank, I would then remove the line from the tank to the carbs and lightly and gently blow air from a hose into the carbs, this will free up any dirt or trash that may have gotten into the carbs.
