Get some carb cleaner. Remove and clean the Nozzle, choke and main jet. Remove the pilot jet and air jet but count the number of turns to remove each one and put them back the same number of turns. Don't mess with the needle or clip or the pilot screw and plug at this time. Clean the carb thoroughly. Don't get carb cleaner on the diaphragm. If able, submerge the carb in cleaner overnight.

Turn the pilot jet all the way in until it GENTLY seats, then back it out one and one half turns. Do the same thing with the air screw. The pilot jet works with the pilot screw to get fuel to the motor at idle speed and about 1/8 throttle.

I have an aprilia habana 50 running started with key and kick start cutting out after a few mins took carb off washed it out not moved any needles now no fuel to carb any ideas

Hi, Kevdavie if your bike has been idle for months or years and does not want to start you will have to deal with a few remedies:
1. Drain and flush fuel tank, google " how to clean a motorcycle gas tank" find a couple forums to view the different options available.
2. Remove your air cleaner and clean and re-oil per Mfg. specifications.
3. Remove the carburetor, disassemble and decontaminate with a carb dip or if you have EFI remove injectors and clean with carb spray and compressed air
4. Remove fuel valve and filter disassemble and clean as necessary, remove fuel lines and replace with new ones.
5. Replace spark plug with a new one and check for spark.

Atv will not idle without choke

Carb. needs cleaned, its starving for fuel and by choking it you reduce the air flow and increase the fuel.

My engine was working fine for about an hour, then started sputtering and finally quit. I re-started and it ran for about 10 min and the same thing happened. I tried again today and the same thing...

Check filter of course but also you might think of doing a carb cleaning also.Sounds like you might have something floating around in the carb, maybe even a little water in your fuel.If its running better in choke mode it's starving for fuel have carb checked and cleaned. Good luck

Oil and fuel leaking out air filter housing, won't stay running Starts rough then dies as it warms up (with in 2-3 mins) looks like fuel and maybe some oil leaking out the air filter. a friend said it...

gasket not possible the thing it could be is floats on a carb is too low so it is filling with fuel and leaking out off carb back through the air filter the way to test for this is to clean the airfilter and just leave the bike for a couple day then go see if the air filters is wet again get back to me once done

I need tuning specs for my 1982 suzuki gs 750.

You need to fix the fueling first - without fuel it won't run!
Your other problem sounds like an air leak - either the manifold or the carb. Check by spraying WD-40 or CRC at the manifold and carb join while the bike is running - if the revs change (either up or down) you have a leak.

Power loss after warm up

Most certaintly a fuel problem. It sounds to me like you might have a high speed jet a little stopped up. I would pull the carb and clean the jets. If the fuel is a little old, and I do mean a little, and the bike sat a little bit, the carbs probably a little varnished. The gasoline we have no days aint nowhere near what it use to be. Clean carb and all should be well. Also for future referance if you know your gonna let the fuel sit more than a couple weeks, I would use a fuel stabilizer and run the bike a while to make sure the stablelizer gets in the carb.

2003 V Star 650. Had fule pumping out of air cleaner box

you shouldnt have to resync the carbs as long as you dont touch the mixture screws or the screws for the throttle blades. you wont have to pull the jets completly out to clean them just spray the heck out of all the orifaces with carb cleaner once you have them pulled apart. Also whe you put it back together make shure the carb seal to the engine and airbox are tight with no leaks, this will make it run bad also

Carbed engine stops dead after 10-20 seconds of running.

If it was the ignitor unit (I assume you mean the ECU) it wouldn't start at all.
Did you check the fuel pump and it's relay? If the bike was garaged for 2 years you should recalibrate your carbs. If there was gas in them all that long they need to be cleaned.
