Oil running through carbs

Hi, Kyle you have a lot going on here that needs professional attention plus it's an old bike you probably have contaminated carburetors that need a "Chemical Dip" as for excessive oil in the air box that could be from too much oil in the system for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. 2004 kawasaki klx125l, Need some pointers and tips, havnt owned a little klx like this before, any help will be appreciated greatly!!!, thanks

Hi, Smackskatebo read my lips don't screw around with oil you know nothing about Kawasaki recommends the best oil for your bike end of story if you are going to listen to anyone listen to the technicians who work on Kawasaki dirt bikes no one else knows the product better would you go to a motorcycle store to buy oil for your car? Your owners manual will tell you exactly what oil to put in your gearbox. For this scenario, you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Kawasaki, despair not, for a mere $10 you can download another one. Bike began running rough so I changed the oil, cleaned the K&N air filter and now the 2003 FatBoy Fuel Injected, dies after about 20 seconds of idling and is gurgling and spitting massive amounts of...

"Oh, and now I can\'t even read the oil level on my dipstick due to the fact it is significantly LOW" This is not a good sign. Now, my expertise is NOT on the Twin Cam bikes but I do try to help when I can. In your case, if your engine were an earleir Evolution or Shovelhead engine, I'd say that you had sheared a scavenge gear drive key in the oil pump. Now, I do not know a thing about the oil pump in a Twin Cam as I've never worked on one. It sounds like your oil pump is not scavenging (sucking) the oil out of the engine and pumping it back to the oil tank. Once the pump pumps the oil into the engine, it stays there. Thats why you're seen the "massive amounts of oil spitting out of the little hoses behind the air cleaner". Take your bike to a dealer or qualified shop as soon as possible and I'd refrain from running it. An engine full of oil would also expain why the engine does not want to run as well.

Good Luck
Steve

Hi, Boulevardrid 20/50 is for moderate to hot weather riding 10/40 is for moderate to cold weather riding and yes to the Mobil 1 the oil Gods claim synthetic oil is better than dino oil I run full synthetic in my bikes and cars.
For this situation, I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry.

When starting oil shoots out breather tube on air cleaner. what causes that?

It sounds like you have a condition we call "oil sumping". This is common on Softails and the old Shovelhead bikes. What is happening is when the bike is allowed to sit up for an extended period of time, the oil in the tank seeps past the check valve in the engines oil pump and collects in the engine cases. When the engine is started, the crankcase pressure blows the excess oil out of the vent which is in the air cleaner. The reason it does this is because the oil tank is higher than the engine. I thought Harley would have figured out a way to prevent this from happening in the new Twin Cam engines but I suppose they didn't.

Now, on the older Evo engines, you could reface the seat in the oil pump and stop this most of the time, but I don't know how to stop it on a Twin Cam since they've got a completely different oil pump.

On an Evo, there is another thing that would cause this as well. If you had something come through the oil pump and it locked the scavenge gears up and sheared the drive key, all the oil in the tank would be in the engine. This would cause oil to blow out of the air cleaner as well.

Check the level of the oil in your oil tank. The stick has two marks on it. The top mark is "FULL HOT" and the lower mark is "FULL COLD". Do not overfill your oil tank.

Good Luck
Steve

More on ... 2006 Suzuki DRZ400S oil leak from bottom of air cleaner.

Check the compression. Pressure getting past the rings can cause the problem. Does the bike burn any oil when you ride? If it does the rings are suspect....... Okay, you have oil > is it the right oil? The prior owner may have put something stupid like 5w30 oil in the crankcase. Do an oil change and put in the heaviest oil Suzuki says is proper. If extra emission stuff is on the engine the dealer should be able to identify the items and you or they could remove or bypass them. Are they contributing to the problem... who knows. Kind of a shot in the dark on that part of the equation.
