No, you can just take off the Headlight door (chrome ring) by removing the screw at the bottom, and then remove three screws from the retaining ring, carefully remove headlight from fairing. The remove the boot at the back of the lens, press down on the wireform loop and push pin end out from under lip of retainer to release. Be careful with bulb, never touch the quartz bulb, Fingerprints will etch the glass and decrease bulb life, grab bulb with paper or a clean dry cloth.

I hope this helps...

Low beam lights not working the other lights do. want to replace the headlight relay

First check that your headlights are not burned out. You may have been running on one bulb for a while then it feels like the switch or relay died when it was only the other bulb burning out.

it is fairly cheap fix. If the bulbs are old anyhow (more than 7 years), it is worth replacing them because they are fairly dim compared to new ones.

Good luck.

Please rate me - even for the suggestion

How to change a headlight bulb, do i have to take off the front fairing?

hi, it is not normaly nessasary to remove the fairing on this model for bulb replacment, the bulb holder is in the middle of the headlight behind a rubber cover, pull off the 3 way plug from the bulb, remove the cover, unclip the wire clip from the bulb and remove the H4 type bulb, some later fuel injection models are more difficult, hope this helps. paul

How do i change the headlights on my 03 kia spectra?

There are 4 headlight caps on this model-2 on each side, the caps must be unscrewed in order to access the back of the headlight socket, once the cap for the headlight is removed you must also unlock a spring mechanism and then you will be able to access the headlight socket to replace the bulb-bulbs are fairly priced and most auto parts stores

How do i cahnge my front headlight bulb

It is fairly simple to change your headlight bulb. First you need to buy a replacement bulb - typically the auto store will have a catalog with different models for your bulb. (Different brightness usually) My replacement bulb had the model 9004.
DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE BULB WITH YOUR HANDS - the oil on your hands will cause the halogen bulb to burn out faster. You should be able to handle just the plastic part in the rear of the bulb.
Remove the old bulb (at the back of the headlight assembly) by twisting off the circular "cap" that keeps the bulb in. You can then detach the bulb socket and remove the old bulb. Insert the new bulb carefully and attach the bulb socket. Then twist the cap back on.
Good luck!

Do I need to remove my fairing to replace the headling bulbs?

Hi there,

well you can please follow the below steps -

Remove the Fairing - 1. Unscrew all seven outer fairing fasteners using a Torx driver. These screws are located on the inner fairing near the windshield, the speakers, and the handlebar clamps.
2. Stand in front of the motorcycle. Tilt the outer fairing toward you and hold it firmly. Reach in and disconnect the wire connectors for the headlight assembly by hand.
3. Move the fairing to a work bench to continue the procedure.

Change the Headlights - 1. Remove the wire harness connectors from the back of each headlight that need replacement. Turn the plastic retainer counterclockwise by hand to remove each bulb from its housing.
2. Install the new headlight bulb or bulbs, with each bulb's wider ears on the bulb back plates oriented toward the top. Screw in the plastic retainer rings by hand.
3. Connect the headlight wire harness connectors to the back of each headlight.
4. Move the fairing back to the motorcycle. Reinstall the fairing, battery and seat in reverse order.
Please post comments if you need more help or information.........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

We own a 1997 ford f250 4x4 and the head light

The headlight bulb is a fairly simple replace. If involves removing the old light by reaching behind the hedlight where the socket with the wires goes into the headlight. It usually is just a quarter turn or a squeeze and turn kind of motion. Once the socket is out of the headlight then you will be able to simply pull the bulb out and replace with a new one...NOTE...do not touch the new headlight bulb with your fingers...we have an oil that is naturally produced in our skin and can make your new bulb fail prematurally. Use a paper towel to install the new bulb or a gloved hand.
