2003 dodge caravan will not start. Makes a clicking noise, and dash shuts off, then makes a humming sound.

im going to say an almost dead battery .the hum you hear might be the fuel never heard it before because the van normaly starts .so boost your van if it starts you may have to replace the altenator the guages, no worries many cars do that .thats a code needing erased and if you disconnect the battery that may go away.

2009 ford focus won't start

Your battery is most likely dead if your lights go out. Charge or change your battery, but your altenater maybe be bad. It recharges your battery, if it don't work your battery will die..

Vehicle starts runs for 2 seconds then shuts off 2006 santa fe 4 cyl standard, not the battery started multiple times and shuts off after 2 seconds every time what is it?

Possibly a weak or dead fuel pump. Try disconnecting the fuel line where it enters the fuel rail ( the metal tube that the injectors are attached to.) Have someone turn the key to the "RUN" position, (not "START") a few times and observe the fuel flow. If it appears weak, then you probably have a bad pump. Be sure to capture the fuel that spills out and DO NOT attempt this while the engine is hot. Altenatetively, you can have someone turn the key "ON" and off a few times while you listen for the humming sound of the pump at the fuel tank. But just because you can hear a humming sound doesn't always mean the pump is operating to capacity. If this doesn't help, reply bvack and we can go from there. Good luck!

No fuel to trottle body carberator the car is not getting any fuel from tank

fuel pump is in tank listen to hear it hum when u turn the key on. if its humming then it will be a plugged up filter, if it isnt humming for a few seconds when u turn the key on the test to see if the power is getting to the pump when the key is turned on. it may also be the safety shut down relay if the pump isnt getting any power

Fuel issues

should hear a whirring humming sound from the fuel tank (if that is where the pump is located) just turn on the key and take off the gas cap you should hear it.
Also did you drain the fuel from the tank when you had it down ? after that many years the fuel would be "gummed" up.

Humming from under gas tank resulting in dead battery, 1989 Ford

Sounds like a fuel pump causing noise. If the noise is still present with the key off then the fuel pump relay is stuck causing the battery to die.

Fuel pump

There's several ways to check the pump and none are really difficult. First, make sure the car radio is off and there is no loud background sounds. Turn the key to the ON position, but don't crank the motor. There should be a humming sound coming from the gas tank. The hum is only about 2 or 3 seconds long, so be ready to listen.

If there is no hum, check the fuse under the dash. It's labeled "FP/INJ2" If the fuse is not blown, check the fuel pressure valve on the intake manifold. It's located under the injection plant towards the back of the manifold. Have someone crank the engine as you operate the valve.

If there is no fuel there, there is an inline fuse located SOMEWHERE under the body of the car. If the pump gets too hot, it will blow to save a potential fire. (I discovered too late that the in tank pumps can overheat if they are not submersed in gas. Keep the tank over 1/4 tank to make sure this doesn't happen)

If all fuses are good, but the pump doesn't hum, the pump is dead.

I hope this helps you out.
